Just seen this clip on social media.

I don’t like criticising officials and I’m often a staunch defender of them, but I think if we don’t issue a caution in situations like this we’re setting a very dangerous precedent.

Edit: can’t upload video, so here is a still image of Emi Martinez clearly entering the referee review area… (and believe it or not, he’s not just stood quietly watching the video)

Not sure if this is officially the referee review area or not as I can see white marks on the floor which could be that area, although it seems impossible that the referee could stand in them marks and still watch the screen. Either way, this is a stonewall caution for Martinez and I think if players are allowed to get away with that, then things will go south rather quickly.

We’ve spoken about this stuff on various threads. They pick & choose what they punish from one week to another.

Is it down to the standards of the officials or down to their leadership? Who knows.

Judging by the line in the image, I assume this is very close to the half way line.
So Martinez has ran the half length of the pitch to have his view too, let alone stand off the field of play (caution for leaving field of play without permission)...

There is a clearly marked area, and Martinez quite clearly does not enter it, so it's definitely not a caution for that. However, you could certainly argue that his leaving the FoP is cautionable, or his attempting to influence the referee during the review.
