Antonio Mateu Lahoz

Even as a City fan it was great to see Lahoz clearly show why he didn't give the handball by slapping his chest and then arm. Looked a penalty in real time and the City players were convinced too but Lahoz had the balls to show the player and the watching millions why he didn't think it was a penalty rather than just shake his head and then point to his earpiece and pit the responsibility on VAR. The best refs, like the best players have the balls to back themselves on the big occasions and show personality.

Belatedly, the highlights.

De Bruyne injury at 4.45
Penalty claim at 5.25... Not much conclusive in those pics.

I'd rather have seen been shown all the angles VAR had!

Bit late, but my favourite ref moment was when he helped the Chelsea player to his feet and then cautioned him - probably not for a Sunday morning though!
