An Embarrassing Moment

Had a slightly embarrassing moment this weekend whilst reffing an U15's game!

Attacking team take a corner straight into the hands of the keeper and I start to move backwards to get in a position for the kick out, as I picked up speed I managed to get my left stud caught in my right boot lace and suffice to say, I went flying! I managed to land on my back and bang my head on the floor at the same time. As you can imagine, the players erupted laughing, as did the parents. I stayed down after the bang to the head and had to be helped up by the home manager. I did continue the game but was slightly more careful on my feet!

ps. I even managed to whistle to stop the game whilst on the floor, now that's professionalism

In U13 game the ball came over a bit lower than anticipated I ducked - a bit to low - and ended up doing a side roll in the middle of the pitch - queue laughter from parents

U12 match about 4 years ago. Hadn't done a junior match in ages, but did it as a favour. Play comes towards me, 11 year old slides and catches me. I had to go off

I'm quite young and I was doing a girls match and I knew pretty much every player from my school and I had exactly the same thing... I was so embarrassed and not one of them let me forget it!!!
