Additional Time

As a general observation / reminder, when an additional board time is shown at the end of each half, the time indicated can (justifiably) be 59 seconds less than the referee intends to play.

Whilst 'rounding up' might seem simpler (and it certainly happens on occasion) , with both teams able to request a justification of the additional time (based on the full match record kept by the 4th official), it's hard to substantiate 4 minutes additional being shown when the card only shows eg 3 min 45 secs.

As such, purely hypothetically speaking ;), if a board shows 3 minutes and then 5 minutes are eventually played, this could correctly be the result of only a fraction over a minute of 'additional time in additional time'.

Genuinely had this in my match on Saturday. I made it 3:50 so I asked the senior AR to tell the dugout 3 mins. I then had a 45 second stoppage during that time and people were losing their minds by the time I blew the final whistle.
