    Manager calls after game

"That right doesn't exist. I'll be looking for the transfer tomorrow. Good night."

    Ever sent your assistant off??

Yeah I would not treat them as team officials unless they were noted as such on the team sheet. In this case, I would ask for the flag back and discharge them from their duty.

    Awareness and alertness

The question is not about whether he spotted it, it's about the directive given to officials. Are they told in all goal scenarios to delay blowing the whistle until the play is complete so as to avoid an error that cannot be fixed? You can always disallow a bad goal, but you can't award a goal...

    Istanbulspor v Trabzonspor

Had I been a supporter, and paid for a ticket, I would have had half a mind to confront the owner and get my money back.

Turkish Referee Halil Umet Meler punched by club president

My understanding is that charges have been filed against the club president, and he is currently in custody. As for what the TFF could do, they could absolutely ban the president for life, and remove his ability to have any association with sanctioned football in the country -- that would...

    A different pre-match

Each of my pre-match conversations are different because they usually depend on the teams involved. I talk about what I know of their tactics, ask my team to do the same, and then about how we are going to control the controllables and be prepared for the unexpected.

    When to abandon

If there is only one minute left, and the lads are having a go for 30-40 seconds, you're abandoning a match with 20 seconds left. Continue to try to gain control, and blow for full time at full time.

    Potential change to offside

I recall there being warning of a slippery slope of the gulf between parks football and the professional game widening even further when VAR was being discussed. It was dismissed, of course, by the majority of people.

    Colin's got the answers!!

I disagree that this is gone in VAR. What VAR does is calls to attention errors in fact which caused the referee to adopt an opinion of an event which does not align with the reality of what occurred. The problem is when VAR is not used this way. Where the referee has made a decision because of...

    ENG v MALTA

The attacker initiates contact with the keeper; book him.

    Potential change to offside

This will actually be more challenging for us, as officials, to determine offside.

How do you see everything, all of the time?

I would be less inclined to see if the GK is off his line and more inclined to ensure that the shooter doesn't commit an offense.

    I need some advice

If they had enough that day, perhaps you should have been the one to relieve them of their pent-up stress and sent them to the showers.

    Difficult coach

That sounds like a him problem. IMO, send him off and report it. Perhaps the kids' parents will inquire with the club as to why their children play for a man who puts the opportunity of their children to play at risk by behaving in this way when he has no other adults on the bench with him.

    Colin's got the answers!!

Slow-mo is valuable for determining many of the considerations for SFP like point of contact, and it helps to determine the body shape of the guilty party at the time of the contact. IMO, slow-motion replays should be used in conjunction with real-time in order to asses all of the considerations...

Do you warn players about all the things which are illegal but which they have no done?

That is, typically, the definition of a push.

    Tottenham wolves

He had multiple simple ways to get up without pressing his studs into Son's crotch. The "pile-driver" part is where he puts his arm around Son's shoulders and head, creating a headlock, and falls backwards.

    Observation report

And although I defended the observer's previous remark, I will not defend his advice here. The way he suggests you manage things (i.e.: by demands and threats) is not going to make you any friends before the match. In fact, he's actually relatively contradictory in this advice: first, he says...

    Observation report

I agree with you -- and without having seen the match, I don't know that Rob's foul tolerance is a major development point based on the match, or if the observer just likes "propah football." Nevertheless, the report itself doesn't fill me with confidence, even if I think that this point is a...
