Bizarre handball penalties - 2 in the same match

I hate it when a fouled player grabs the ball BEFORE the ref has blown the whistle even if it is an obvious foul. I always want the ref to give handball but they never seem to. This is a strange sort of reversal of the situation. Very silly of the defender !

    One foul resulting in chaos...

Yes that was my thoughts on how it could be viewed. At the moment the result stands, things have been smoothed out with the opposition but I'm still going to report it.

    One foul resulting in chaos...

Hi all. Need some advice on how to deal with this situation. I refereed my sons U11 game at the weekend. A very competitive game, a few little niggles from a couple of players who I spoke to but nothing too serious. My sons team goes 4-2 ahead with only a few minutes remaining, the opposition...

Penalty kicks - law change ?

I'm just saying it's controversial and bending the rules. https://www.sportingnews.com/us/soccer/news/penalty-taker-rules-stutter-step-run-goalkeeper-line-laws/f2c99ba4371eb4b56c59467a

Penalty kicks - law change ?

That you're not allowed to stop/feint at the end of the run up. Obviously his technique is permitted as it's been allowed to happen, I was just pointing out that to me it's like he stops, skips and then kicks the ball.

Penalty kicks - law change ?

I suppose it's quite clever what he does, his body is always moving so he gets away with it but there's a definite attempt to trick the goalie into thinking he's about to kick it. My point was that in the game v France it's the feint right at the end that causes the keeper to move off his line.

Penalty kicks - law change ?

He sort of stops, skips a step then kicks the ball. Is that not circumventing the law a bit ?

Penalty kicks - law change ?

Hi all, I'm a bit confused on the current rules for penalty kicks. Specifically for encroachment offences. I've always thought the rule was that if a player from either side encroached into the area before the kick was taken, then the kick had to be retaken depending on whether the goal was...

    Spintso

I have the Spintso watch and I like it. Fairly easy to use. It counts down the time and vibrates when the time is up. Lots of good features on it. It has a function to keep track of the score, HT time setting. Lots of other stuff such as BPM / steps / kcal and a sleep setting. I’m sure there’s...

    Player's boot comes off...what to do ?

Unusual incident from reffing my sons U10's 7v7 match at the weekend. An attacking player was heading towards goal and just as he got to the penalty area his boot came off when another player came to tackle him. He kept control of the ball to my surprise and play continued. Now he's in the...

    Slide tackles in youth football

Thanks. What do we think about 7v7 football where they don’t play offside yet? Still allowed for that ?

    Slide tackles in youth football

Not at all. A coach messaged me saying a discussion was going on about it on a forum and asked my advice. I told him pretty much the same thing that unless the referee deems it dangerous it’s allowed. Then I went googling (as you do) and came across a few different opinions, hence the post. This...

    Slide tackles in youth football

Does anyone know what the rules are for 9v9 youth football regarding slide tackles? Are they outlawed completely at this age? UK based using FA rules. Thanks

Turkish Referee Halil Umet Meler punched by club president

They should come down on the club like a tonne of bricks. A huge points deduction minimum.

    BVB Vs RB Leipzig

I've found some other footage on Youtube. He does indeed give a penalty and yellow card first. The players have the ball on the spot while VAR is checking and they switch to the free kick and red card when confirmed. He's just forgotten to cancel the yellow card before issuing the red.
