Ghana won the ball in an appealed challenge so my guess is the referee spent too long waving that away and coupled with a quick counter attack was totally lost positionally.
They probably also had to check the APP as there was a potential foul (it wasn't) on Eze when Ghana won the ball at the very start of the attack so additional layer of complexity. I guess they have to clean the penalty first and then look at APP but it was cleared very fast.
I cant help but feel...
It didn't make much sense. Could have dealt with the injuries and not had to add any time on.
Also Bellingham no idea how a dropped ball works. First of all wanted to kick it back then once it was on play held his hands up to say I'm not challenging for it despite now being allowed to... 🙈
Not deliberately no. Your saying in the same breath AR counting 8 7 6 which I have misinterpreted as applying to all restarts less CK.
I understand that there will be occasions where position is impacted but not as impact fully as you are describing imo.
There are solutions to the problems you...
If it's for an offence before the restart doesn't that lead to the restart being retaken?
I don't think you can review a possible block / hold, identify no offence, but then review the distance from wall at restart?
I'd have to look more closely again at the changes around restarts and the...
Maybe I am not understanding you. You seem to be indicating that 8s is being enforced at every restart? This is fundamentally wrong and not consistent with the law or the protocol that accompanies it.
8s applied to keeper control only.
The 5s applies to when we would have previously blown the...
Yes, thats what am referring too. You can often be hanging around for 2 seconds before realising the keeper intends to go long at which point you have to count, have eyes on the keeper and striker hanging round whilst trying to get to the obvious drop zone they will aim for.
Don't worry about me I can multi task.
I don't think it ever appeared in law. It was always in the guidance notes.
Im assuming the exception for players to remain on field of play still exists so surely there still needs to be some guidance on that? Or do I really need to stop posting and RTFL?
Restarts are not a break for the ref. And counting isnt going to have an impact on fitness/recovery, no sir.
1 thing I did see and probably did myself was when poorly positioned to start the count, having to count and make up ground/position looked and was awkward
