    Delaying goal kicks ..

After the 3rd/ 4th time could you give a caution for persistent offending? Similar to 8 second count from hands?

    Ball hitting the referee

One in particular from Michael Oliver really annoyed me, hit him and the ball went backwards about 20 yards to Martinez, no promising attack, no change of possession etc etc, and yet the game was still stopped. As you say, a lot of the players stopped anyway as they are expecting a dropped ball...

    Crewe goal

Interesting he said that, and it just goes to show how split everyone is on it, as I spoke with two current EFL officials and they suspected that this goal would definitely be included in their weekly meeting and clip session, with the expectation it should be disallowed!! But they were speaking...

    Field conditions - dry weather

This - and any slide tackle or trip resulting in a huge graze all along the leg that will never heal!

West Brom 2 game ban for handball

Where does it end?? A player appeals for a corner even though it was obviously a goal kick, the referee gives the corner, the team score from the corner, are they going to ban the player who wrongly won the corner? Ridiculous decision to ban him if you ask me! (Which no one did!!)

Young ref and a shirtless club lino call an offside then give a "deadball" goal

Fair play! There is no way if I am following the game I could also judge offside - I have an idea if someone is off or on obviously but there is no way I could fairly and accurately say so especially when they are close.

    What’s the right call here?

    Good decision

New LoTG - Injuries - Liking it!!

“An injured player may not be treated on the field of play and, where an injury results in play being stopped or the restart of play being delayed, the injured player must leave the field of play and may only re-enter one minute after play has restarted;” Bit of a grey area because if you pause...

Whistle blast before 5 second count down.

Could have been the same meeting, I was going to say something but didn’t want to rock the boat and cause a scene! That was wrong information to a room of 90 people!!

Whistle blast before 5 second count down.

I went to an RA meeting last night and a question from someone was something along the lines of “what happens if a player picks the ball up for a throw in and then puts it down for the next player to come and take” - The answer from someone in the room and then confirmed by an RDO was “you...

    France - Spain

Someone explain that Dembele freekick/ non freekick then! They’re just making it up as they go along! I have stuck up for all referees and all decisions this World Cup but this one has really got to me - it’s not even that important but it’s the one that’s made me realise that we may be obsolete...

    Ecuador v Germany

I am seeing people genuinely suggest that because the player 'headed' the foot it isn't a foul - in slow motion it may look that way but in full speed he has gone to head the ball and the strikers leg gets there first, therefore risking injury and therefore causing dangerous play - the fact...

    England v Ghana

Found this - think the injuries were classed as serious

    England v Ghana

Right then, James and Ayew both treated on field, both go off and then both waved back on within 10 seconds, some one explain please!

    Canada vs Qatar

I think I agree, but it’s hard because I would want and to extend this to players pushing other players off the pitch in to advertising boards/ railings. Also to think of a recent example, the Sunderland striker who pushed Romero in to his own keeper which meant Romero was then out for the...

    IFAB changes for 26-27

I think I would too! We’ve stopped the game just for you, now you may as well have your ‘injury’ looked at and treated because you’re off for a minute anyway!

    IFAB changes for 26-27

I think it is new for this year, at least that is how I read it! So it just needs one of those bullet points for the player to go off?

    IFAB changes for 26-27

Another thing I noticed from the Portugal game, A player down injured, Fernandes had the ball and was shouting at the ref to stop the game because of an injury (he was fine by the way). The ref was shouting for him to put it out. I believe that if the referee had stopped the game for the...

    IFAB changes for 26-27

Yea I agree, and that is what (so far) it seems to be good for. One particular instance a Mexico player was down indicating a dead leg - pre law change this would have meant a physio coming on, spraying the area, then the player jumping up, walking off and screaming to come back on. This time he...

    IFAB changes for 26-27

Noticed quite a few times last night in the Mexico game players that were down 'injured' managed to run off those injuries instead of needing a physio on and taking more time - definitely sped things up, but, one argument may be that players shouldn't have to 'run' things off but I suppose...
