    Report

I’ve been the idiot who has done this before. Fortunately it was a Sunday league game and I realised before Monday morning so I contacted the CFA before anything went out. But all you can do is let them know, worse things have happened at sea

Pushed and sworn at by a player

It does raise the question of how much I would accept as a fee to be shoved. Maybe £150? 😂

Pushed and sworn at by a player

If a player pushes me (has only happened once in nearly 500 matches), I would (and did) abandon the match. It’s totally up to the referee to decide what they want to do and I hope you get support from your RDO and the player is handed a significant ban. Personally my view is that I am not paid...

    Isthmian U18 and midweek games

Try the Suburban league who run reserve/academy matches midweek and on Saturdays

Kit clash - Arsenal v Newcastle

Sweating the small stuff here, but I’m surprised to see the match officials wearing a near-identical blue to Newcastle’s goalkeeper, given Newcastle have a green goalkeeper kit that wouldn’t clash with blue (match officials), Newcastle (black/white), Arsenal (red/white) or the Arsenal keeper...

    Brighton v Arsenal

Great spot on the penalty - took a moment to compute what happened and got it spot on

    Valencia v Real Madrid

It’s VC for me - but my greater concern is his reaction to the red card. I hope his ban is extended for that.

    Merthyr v Walton & Hersham

From the angle in the video, I agree that the referee appears to be 100% wrong. This angle is less flattering for the W&H player (although obviously it’s just a still image so hard to tell much from it): I’m struggling to have sympathy for this tiny broken shinpad, however:

    Substitution Signal

Yeah AR2 should only be making the signal if the referee hasn’t seen AR1 trying to get his attention. So in matches with buzzers/comms it’s basically unnecessary

    Level 7-6 / 6-5 Promotion

Apparently friendlies don’t count towards 6-5, I have just learned. They do count at 7-6

    Brighton v Brentford

Is he actually attempting to strike him? Looks like he possibly misses him on purpose. Either way it would have been a dumb way to get sent off

    Level 7-6 / 6-5 Promotion

The only bit I am unsure of since the changes is whether the five lines for 6-5 have to be open age, or whether they can be u18 etc

    Level 7-6 / 6-5 Promotion

Open age women’s games count towards your total for 7-6 and 6-5 (at least where I am anyway)

Moving to B&B FA - leagues?

From my experience you’ll get lines on the CCFL if you are able to provide them with a couple of Saturdays a month. They have U23s and U18s you can middle on too

    Offside/DOGSO/SPA

For me it’s a yellow for the hold (not SPA). But you’d be justified just giving a free kick

    Late arrivals

I suppose there could also be the weird instance that they HAVE had their kit inspected before kick off but then ran off to take a phone call/use the toilet before kick off etc and missed the start…?
  17. R

    Late arrivals

If a team starts with fewer than 11 players, does a late arrival named on the teamsheet need to wait for a stoppage in play to enter the field of play? Or can they enter during play, provided they have the permission of the referee? I’d have thought they need to wait for a stoppage as...

    Newcastle - Liverpool

Time’s up. You had 90mins to kick the ball around

adult game on BUT under 16s off?

A lot of divisions didn’t get finished. Some teams had six games left over and just forfeited them as they knew they were safe. One team stayed up on goal difference by forfeiting the last three games and taking 3-0 defeats, rather than playing three games in five days etc

Leicester v Chelsea Red cards anyone?

Just comes back to my point that they should be picking up a flag a couple of times a year at a lower level. Yes it would be weird for Michael Oliver to run the line in PL2, but surely that’s better than him being unprepared to do it in the PL in case of emergency?
