Ditch the "Clear and obvious" standard. It's so ambiguous and varies from person to person. The objective should simply be "Make the right decision". In the few occasions it could go either way just get the referee to the monitor! I don't care if it takes 2 minutes to get a RC decision right...

I genuinely can't remember a weaker SFP decision in England. (I'm sure I've forgotten loads) Kavanagh's 2nd RC overturned in 2024? His AR and VAR have thrown him right under the bus here.. Ironically, many Man Utd fans wanted him suspended. He has been DIRE this season yet the clueless manager...

    EFL 2024-25 MW7/8

Ball might be 2mm out of play. AR does not have a freeze frame. Commentator: "It's not even close" 😅 😅 😅 GTFO! Noone on here is getting that decision right without guessing either so a few people can wind their neck in.

Agreed. But for SFP I need at least endangering the safety of any opponent/ brutality/excessive force. I see non of those. There are tackles every game that have 0 chance of getting the ball (Martinez in this very game was much more dangerous) and they are nothing more than cautions 90% of the...

    An "Ignore" button

NO WAY! 😅 😅 😅 How many years have we had this?? EDIT: The ignore function doesn't appear on admins' profile. That's why I couldn't see it. :(

    An "Ignore" button

Seen it on similar forums. An option to click on anyone's profile and click "ignore" so you never see their posts. Would be a great function IMO.

I hope you follow through this viewpoint with 5 red cards in every game you ref 👍

I suspect the AR has advised RC. The angle he has is the only one where it looks like Bruno has caught him on his knee. (Which he hasn't). I can understand the on field decision (as incorrect as it was) but VAR not correcting is just another howler.

Yes it is. If this isn't "C&O" then we accept a SFP decision is never going to be overturned this season. Fine. I look forward to this consistent approach.

    Crystal Palace Vs Manchester United

"the action viewed in isolation is a ridiculous challenge. Martinez is so fortunate that he doesn't contact Kamada." It went on to add that the decision was "supported as correct on the basis that the action by Martinez had been completed and no contact was made, however the panel felt very...

The FA and FIFA themselves show videoclips of incidents to assist in training of referees at all levels. Most things that happen on a football pitch CAN be put into a category with things that happened in other games. If they couldn't it would be impossible to write a book of laws as it would be...

I def prefer Taylor but I have ref friends that swear he is the worst in the world 😅

    Man City v Arsenal

Interesting that only referees think this, I don't know a normal football fan that agrees. Not that in itself proves anything. For me he is like an "arty" movie that people pretend is top notch to appear smarter to their peers. But hey-ho, opinions and all that. I must protest your insinuation...

Do we have any indication what the 2nd caution was for? I'm fine with it being the challenge.

Good that Oliver and VAR ignored the VC by Haaland after the equaliser.

I instantly thought red. Then I was trying to justify a caution as he doesn't get the player. But it is just sheer luck. It just had to be a red card.
