Fair enough. I think our original (TV) angle is what the 4O would have seen. I wouldn't be confident enough to be calling for SFP from that angle personally. I'd be saying USB and hope I was right.

I'd also add, you're making out it's the clearest SFP. This is the challenge. Looks well within the realms of a normal challenge for me. The ball slips out, the defender gets his studs caught in the turf and it all looks horrible from there. You could argue if you go in like this there is always...

Being harsh here. Ref doesn't have a cat in hell's chance of spotting this. Only the 4th has a chance to see this and once he's giving advising RCs you might as well just send the ref to the monitor. The system has worked and we're still not happy!

This is a mistimed tackle with exactly the amount of force you would expect. I'm not saying a red is wrong but this is not excessive force.

I am surprised to find 80% agree with me that it's a penalty considering when David Luiz nearly decapitated Raul Jiminez in 2020 with a flying headbutt noone on here though it was anything more than a clash of heads.

The sound is a fair point. But that pic shows his left leg is tucked in and a frame earlier (as this pic is post contact) it was planted on the ground. This may still be SFP but it is not a "2 footed" challenge.

1. We don't know that (unless you've seen a diff video). 2. Since when does contact = SFP?

I've no problem with a red card. But if he was actually trying to elbow him his spatial orientation needs looking at by a doctor. He either thinks better of it or was trying to intimidate his opponent. He's very lucky anyway and would be walking if I was ref.
