    Seasonal 5-4

The system works better now imo. It allows the FA to take a more holistic approach to promotion than simple merit based which I think everyone here will agree has it's flaws, as does any system I add. Ultimately you finish in the top 1-3 you are unlucky to not get promoted automatically. So...

    CFA registration fees

No but they have been £20 for the last few years and referee fees have mostly more than doubled since then and the cost of administering the services they give have also substantially increased too. You always have a choice to not register...

    MOT vs CEL

Makes sense. I was the same. But I'm also not a trade unionist so I don't naturally lend myself to industrial action 🤣

    MOT vs CEL

The sad truth is the appetite for striking is low as evidenced when ref support tried it a few years back. Due to the state of the nation many people rely on the refereeing income OR can't forego it is probably a better way to say it, so will not get on board with striking. I also think it has...

    MOT vs CEL

Someone has to say it. A more accurate statement I don't think I've ever read.

    Seasonal 5-4

This is for 4-3 and 3-2. L4s are ranked by their county and then the fa select from that ranking list

    Seasonal 5-4

Your county fa will normally say if they have nominated you. Then FA will confirm if you have been selected.

    Bayern v PSG - 6.05

Ok. Something tells me old habits won't die hard though. Search is very good, true, so easy to find the comments referenced and again I wasnt trying to prove any points at all. I made a comment, you questioned it and I explained that was how we had been told to apply the new law practically...

    Bayern v PSG - 6.05

It doesn't prove anything. You have taken a screenshot out of context to try to prove a point but when you add in the context it doesn't prove anything at all. Literally all I was saying is there is some document here that still has this old guidance and then agreed that the laws were king...

    Buzzer flags

JUst start ringing door bells with your thumb and run off. Good practise for both fitness and button pressing. Win. Win.

    Bayern v PSG - 6.05

I did. But I wasn't using it as justification. In the previous post I stated that it had been taken out of law but was still appearing in the rules and I was responding to a user querying it. In the following post after this one I agreed that laws trumped rules, exactly what I am still saying...

    Player Behaviour Initiatives

Maybe this is an "your experience may vary" but I have found sin bins to have significantly improved behaviour overall. Yes there's still moments where players cross the line and they are put in the bin (or not depending on the referee). I sometimes pickup games that do have sin bins so I have...

    Buzzer flags

From an assistant referee perspective, these are the people that will be using them after all, touchline all day every day and twice on a Sunday.

    Bayern v PSG - 6.05

I dont recall using it as justification and to be fair if I had done, then they would have been significantly more current if/when I did. That iteration, I believe, was published when that faq correlated directly with law. I think if you dig deep enough I called out this exact situation...

    Bayern v PSG - 6.05

That is not the laws but a simplified rules. It has also not been updated to the best of my knowledge since it's first version

    Badge help and advice

As a level 6 referee you would wear your county badge. As a level 6 referee you will only be acting as an assistant referee. Step 5/6 referees are level 4s and sometimes, promotion candidates going from 5-4 are given these games as development/assessment opportunities.
