    5-4 promotion

So passing a fitness test as a level 5 isn't essential, as that's nothing to do with the FA... all you have to do for the FA is pass the fitness test at the start of next season if you get promoted, however, to get your level 4 promotion you have to be nominated for it by your county FA. They...

    Ear moulds

Haven't actually received / tried the earpiece yet, but I've been very impressed by the service compared to VOGO. £25 for the impression from Specsavers. £75 for the mould, and having sent him the impression first class on Thursday 4th June, he's sending the mould to me today and I should...

    Germany vs Curacao

To add on to this, I’ve just seen that the reason the W was selected, was because when being assigned a new 2 letter ISO code, CU, CR, CC and even CX were already taken, so CW was selected because of the capital city Willemstad. So effectively CUW stands for CUracao Willemstad

    Germany vs Curacao

I stand corrected. I just assumed it was meant to be a slash 🤣 Another point that irritates me like hell about abbreviations… When you see it all over social media that people are losing their minds that when Sweden play Denmark the abbreviations will said SWE-DEN and more so that the unused...

    Germany vs Curacao

Bosnia and Herzegovina wasn’t BIH, it was intended to be B/H with a fancy but straight / (I believe)

    Qatar v Switzerland

Top level ARs in other countries never place so much emphasis on the things we consider to be essential here like crabbing

    MOAS Types

I’m guessing @Egg man has heard of people getting notification saying they’ve been nominated for FA competitions by their county, not appointments going out

    The 2026 World Cup thread

I have it on relatively good authority that MO had a very minor issue, passed a fitness assessment but Collina chose not to risk it. Should be all good to continue in the tournament.

    The 2026 World Cup thread

It’s not mistaken identity. It’s an incorrect decision. Really not sure that’s VAR reviewable, although the public will support it

    MOAS Types

I suspect (although I’m far from certain) that if you’re a level 5 it’ll mean you’ve been nominated for FA competitions by your county FA

I do still see bots as new members regularly, but I haven't had any access problems for some time!

    Mexico vs South Africa

I think a caution is probably a better outcome and nobody would be overly surprised, but I think it ticks enough boxes that dogso can’t be called a clear error. I also doubt the ref goes red if he hadn’t already sent 2 opposition players off (although I may be wrong… only he will know) but it...

THE FA NO LONGER PROVIDING FREE KIT FOR LEVEL 2, 3 OR 4s

Was just about to post this. I'm pretty sure it was only since the release of the Nike Referee II kit that it was a thing anyway. Start of the 22/23 season I believe (or may even have been start of 23/24). So whilst it's a shame it's been stopped, it's not like it's something that's always been...

    New Nike kit

Being baggy around the leg might allow me to go back to a medium. I had a medium in the Referee I shorts but the Referee II shorts I ordered a medium and they were almost skin tight around the legs so I had to change to large. (I'm probably only a 30 inch waste, but chunky thighs / quads)

    England Vs Costa Rica

Was watching the match last night with someone who operates as VAR and he said it's not really a pen but in the prem he's probably not intervening but with FIFA the VAR protocol can be thrown out the window at times.

    Boots

For £175 a pop I'd want my boots to score goals for me as well as just get me around the pitch and last a while!

    Boots

I use grip socks. I can't say I notice any difference in terms of blister prevention, but what I do notice is that the the toe and heel area lasts more than 3 games, which the same can't be said for the Nike socks.

    Boots

To be fair, as someone who considers myself a size 9, at 35 years old I'm questioning whether I really am a size 9, because I seem to be having to size up 1/2 size more often than I don't these days.

    Advantage question

Either one of us is misunderstanding the question or we don't agree. The team who had the advantage initially then comitted a foul shortly after playing the advantage. You can't ignore the second foul, so you have to choose whether by the time the 2nd foul was comitted, the advantage had...
