    US v Bosnia

Thing is, the suspension hasn’t even been overturned, it’s been suspended. Which while less severe is actually worse, because it means they’re not saying the red card was incorrect, just that he doesn’t need to serve a ban unless he gets another

    France v Paraguay

He wouldn’t be there if he wasn’t. People don’t get to world cups by accident. Perhaps the occasion got to him 🤷‍♂️

    France v Paraguay

France on 3 yellow cards and Paraguay without a single one. Wow 😬

    France v Paraguay

My brother is adamant that Mbappe covered his mouth confrontationally when it all nearly boiled over. Footage does make it look like he might have, but not overly clear

    CAN vs MAR

On a side note to Oliver’s excellent performance, how did that game end 3-0 Morocco? Canada dominated them 🤣

    Spain v Austria

I don’t even think that’s fan nonsense tbh, he’s a very unlikeable guy

    Portugal v Croatia

That's a very rare bit of honesty. Someone I know who is in the know said that there is absolutely zero doubt the technology is correct and there was a touch

    England Vs DR Congo

Exactly, this one wouldn't help with my rash!

    Thats a river

    US v Bosnia

Where's the controversy here? Not one person here has said it isn't a red card. Just a couple of people with a gripe at the VAR intervention inconsistency.

    England Vs DR Congo

But they're still both colloquially known as Congo, so if you're not calling them their full name, Congo is every bit as valid a shortened version as DR Congo, and is way easier.

    Bel v Sen

I don’t think he went over by that much. Think the penalty incident was around 117-118 mins, and was scored in the 124th, meaning he’s gotta realistically play to 127 before accounting for any other injuries. But yeah it did seem a little excessive.

    US v Bosnia

I don’t hate the intervention, given that it’s nasty contact of studs down Achilles and also causes the players ankle to buckle, but equally, I do think that’s a very low bar again for intervention which until the previous game of the evening, we hadn’t seen

    Bel v Sen

Not a penalty for me. Shame for the game to end that way, but if Senegal are looking for someone to blame, it can be the way they played the final 10 minutes of normal time after a very good first 80

    England Vs DR Congo

I know this, but they are still both colloquially called Congo. Since there’s only one at the tournament, I think it’s safe to just call them that, rather than DR Congo in speech. It just sounds off. If you’re shortening it, shorten it properly. If you don’t want to, then call them their proper...

    England Vs DR Congo

Bet365 are international bookies and the odds will be in line with betting exchanges used worldwide. Statistically we’re narrow favourites to win. But it’s not a million miles from a coin flip.

    England Vs DR Congo

The reverse angle shows that no penalty was a great call. I actually think Kane’s on field behaviour is rather dislikeable. Oh and thankyou for just calling the thread England vs Congo not ‘DR Congo’. Not so bad written down, but for reasons I can’t explain hearing everyone call them DR Congo...

    Germany vs Paraguay

Not the phrase I've heard of, but certainly a lot cleaner than the one I've heard 😆
  19. R

    Mex v Ecu

I don't disagree with the points made, but I have seen a slideshow somewhere to suggest FIFA are adopting a model that includes a player having their hand over their mouth and an allegation being made to result in a red card (actually taking the allegation in to account when the hand covers the...

    Germany vs Paraguay

Of course, but I think it's hard to imagine a clear case of this (unless goalkeeper inexplicably charges more than 6 yards off of his goal line)
