cant agree that the same tackle can result in different outcomes because one breaks a leg and the other doesnt.
every single tackle has the potential to endanger a players safety, it's a contact sport and sometimes freak accidents occur.
looks to me like messi is trying to avoid the contact, but the contact he makes is clearly quite dangerous and something we have been seeing red cards for
i dont think it's a red but wouldn't have been surprised to see VAR getting involved

Apparently one of FIFA's new laws allows VAR to intervene when a player is shown a yellow or red card, but the offence for which the card was shown was committed by another player of either team
still not sure that...
indeed - quite what you need to do to actually see jail time i'm not sure
this comes a good 15 years after i witnessed a horrible assault on the pitch, player was found not guilty of ABH
