    Portugal vs DR Congo

Anyone thinking SFP for the Bernardo Silva caution on about 12 mins? Probably not quite enough for the VAR to recommend a review, but I think the on-field call should have been red. Would have like to have seen a dissent caution for Ronaldo too, but porcine aerial manoeuvres springs to mind.

    ARG vs ALG

    I don't think so.

    ARG vs ALG

And there was little force used!

    ARG vs ALG

Not enough force in it to justify a red IMO. Should've been a caution though.

    Germany vs Curacao

At least all three of the letters are in 'Bosnia and Herzegovina'... where the hell does the W come from for Curaçao?!

    Germany vs Curacao

Does anyone know why Curaçao's three letter initial is CUW? It's really annoying me 🤣

    Qatar v Switzerland

I really don't think it does.

    Qatar v Switzerland

It only "looks offside" because the camera isn't in line.

    The 2026 World Cup thread

It was reviewable as per the new LotG changes, and the VAR protocol specifies that mistaken identity is still reviewable even if play has restarted.

It really wouldn't have been though - by the time he's looked up it's maybe a couple of feet further, a yard at most. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/videos/cx2dyr3e1zro - 7:50 on the BBC highlights here btw.

    Mexico vs South Africa

Yes it is, as of 10 days ago - "location and number of defenders and attackers" It was not.

    Mexico vs South Africa

Without the foul the attacker would've had a free shot at goal from pretty much this exact position, and also had a teammate dead centre to square it to.

    Mexico vs South Africa

As much as people may say the second red was either 'soft' or not a red, by the LotG it's violent conduct, as the contact to the head with the arm is definitely deliberate, is more than negligible force, and isn't a challenge for the ball. Difficult to judge it from the referee's side of it, but...

    New Nike kit

If you like wearing a sweatband while reffing, you can find some cheap ones on Amazon that have a zip pocket in them which I find perfect for holding the coin. My red may be finding another home while wearing these ones!

    New Nike kit

The shorts fit about the same as all the previous Nike ones for me. The material does feel flimsier, but being lighter they also feel better when you're running in them. The zips on the side pockets don't particularly bother me, I probably won't use them much as the pockets seem about as deep as...

As far as I can see, the only way to get them is on Ebay, but they're coming from Australia.

    Boots

My Asics Gel-Lethal 19's have come to the end of their life, and I will almost certainly be shelling out whatever I have to in order to get a new pair. Most comfortable boots I've ever had, and an absolute necessity for anyone with calf/achilles problems.
