I think so. Like you, I had no interest in either team, however this did strike me as an odd decision. I couldn’t really think why it wasn’t given.

I had a team a couple times just before Christmas who were very complimentary, saying how I “let the game flow” and just let them play football. I’m never sure if that kind of comment is truly reflective of the referee though, as to let a game flow relies on the players as well. A game can’t...

I’m not so sure on that. There was someone on the radio this morning explaining that if you imagine the two doses giving 100% immunity, then the 1st one gives around 90% of that, with the 2nd one giving the remaining immunity.

Yep - DOGSO was the right call for me.

With tier 4 right across mainland Scotland just now, there’s nothing until January 16th at least. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s longer than that though.

Didn’t realise it’s been going that long. I only came across the site around 18 months ago before signing up last December. Many thanks for all the work done in the background - it’s a great site that’s definitely helped develop me as a referee.

They even do it when the referee literally has a finger to the ear saying “they’re checking it” 😡

Surprised me as well. As much as I disagree with the handball law, I can’t see how that’s not a penalty.

It’s a tough one. Once you give the foul, it has to be a red card for me. Below is a still image - from the other side of the pitch - at the point of contact. I personally don’t believe either defender would catch him.

Appropriate caution/send-off etc then restart with free kick or penalty to opposition (depending on where offence took place)

Yellow card in left shorts pocket, notebook and coin in right shorts pocket, red card in right shirt pocket, and pen in left shirt pocket. Works for me.

Below is a link to the story explaining it. Marshall said the ref had told him - presumably because it would be the final kick - if he saved it they would do a quick VAR check, so don’t celebrate too early. This explained the delayed reaction from him, much to my relief. 😀...
