Junior/Youth What to submit extraordinary match report for/punch at U12

I would say Marcus, it's great you've recognised the learning from this incident, but also remember to look for the positives here. You've made a decision, you've stayed committed to that decision (helps your match control/credibility), and you're clearly trying to learn which is commendable...

Junior/Youth What to submit extraordinary match report for/punch at U12

Basically anything discipline related that isn't a standard card offence. So for example, could be something like a discriminatory comment, a massive confrontation after the game. Generally, if you think something has happened that shouldn't have, it falls under an extraordinary report...

    Looking at Social Media

And then the players would either have a go at the CAR or protest his decision because "He wasn't in line ref!" Don't I well know it 😂

    Looking at Social Media

That was your mistake. Never go with the CAR - even if they're going 'against' their team - it's always wrong 😂

    Crystal Palace Vs Manchester United

But what if there had been contact? Is it then a red card? And if it's a red card if there's contact, why award a yellow card when there's no contact and 'encourage' more challenges like this?

First OA Middle - Youth Ref

Having been in a position similar to you around a year or two ago now, absolutely take on board all the advice above. You're there to be a referee, referee as you see best fit (you're there because you're capable), don't worry if the grown adults can't behave themselves, just give them your...

    Referee world ranking

I like the idea, and I think in an ideal world it could be quite interesting - and certainly motivating for officials. But I just can't see a world in which teams, fans, pundits etc. would be reasonable about it. "This referee is only ranked 7, why don't we get given [No.1]?" Or if the referee...

    EURO 2024 Final - Spain V England

When England cleared the ball and it hit him, followed by Spain regaining the ball, why didn't that result in a drop ball? Have I read that wrong?

    NED V ENG Euro SF

Hey - James told me off for that last night! 😂

    NED V ENG Euro SF

I will admit I'm not in my most focused of minds right now!

    NED V ENG Euro SF

But if it were an attempted sliding block that just took the striker after a shot would that not be a foul anywhere else on the field? Alternatively: Man City vs Liverpool 🫣

    NED V ENG Euro SF

Feels like any attempted block in the box now should be a penalty if it slightly misses the ball

    Spain V Germany

Which presumably leads to more issues in the long run when it comes to international football. We've seen a difference in refereeing styles at these Euros, and there's certainly been a difference in AR-ing too which has made the whole thing look a little bit messy at times. I agree that one...

We normally have two of those at a match! 😉

    England v Slovakia

I think he was a bit generous on England there to be honest

    Ref's World

I saw that Cup Final one and I was wincing as he kept making comments about the manager. I'm normally a fan of his videos, and I think like you say - he's usually very good at self-reflection. The fact there was a comment chain of around 30 messages between him and the manager and a player...

    Remuneration

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't they get a higher match fee? And so a higher level referee is paid more per match than a lower level referee? As for the Sunday league game with a 4 hour round trip, I wouldn't do that game, but I wouldn't do that if I was being paid for 4 hours of driving...

Yes mate! Bet it makes the tough games worth it now!

    Advice

I started doing Open Age this season - albeit I'm a year or two older than you are right now. The main difference between adults and youth is obviously the level of tolerance for dissent. Expect to get a lot more comments about your ability (not that they're in any way founded) and I've noticed...

    Watford vs Sunderland

I get what you mean though - Sky have done quite a few Championship clips and it seems like more people disagree with decisions which are correct in law than not. I do think Matt Donahue comes across well on them though - particularly when he has to talk about his own clips
