Thanks for confirming that. You allow a player to call a CAR a cheat without a red card, as you consider it "not offensive", so what words/actions towards a CAR would result in a dismissal?

Or a counter-attack in added time, which the referee allows to continue with the goalkeeper stranded in the far penalty area with his team-mates . . . think I read something like that very recently 🤔😂

At the speed this was played, an Observer (unlikely to be in line with the players concerned) would not judge on a single incident like this. Worth asking the AR about it, but no chance of saying right or wrong.

As you had clearly made your mind up, adding an opinion from a still picture adds little value to the issue.

Perhaps they should be looking for yellow instead of black 😉

Whatever the AR decided here would upset one team or the other. Only because a goal resulted is it under wider discussion.

I share your view - there would be no offence if the attacker was just inside the area as he is not anywhere near the goalkeeper's line of sight.

Interesting tactic to have an attacker wide of the penalty area on the side where the ball is going to be played. Likely to be first to the ball if parried by the goalkeeper. Legal as behind the ball.

I had an interesting discussion with a coach after a recent match where I was the Observer. He was kicking a ball with his 3-year-old son. He asked me my view of the game, and we discussed the outcome (but not the officiating) - his team had won. I asked him how it was that here he was...

The point of my post was the wording "If the referee has authorised . . . " Whether the Head Coach/Manager/ etc want the physio to go on or not, "If the referee has authorised . . ." is the decider here.

Law says "If the referee has authorised the doctors and/or stretcher bearers to enter the field of play, the player must leave on a stretcher or on foot. A player who does not comply must be cautioned for unsporting behaviour"
