    Utd v Chelsea

Unfortunately I think age is finally catching up with Atkinson. His movement is static and he struggles to keep us. He’s been one of the best over the years, but I’d be surprised if he didn’t head over to the VAR van very soon

Coin Toss (New Laws) - Question

Ah interesting. I had read 'take the kick off' as 'take the decision', that's how I'd use the word take. Fair enough

Coin Toss (New Laws) - Question

No, the loser doesn’t get to kick off - they get the choice of whether they want to first half or second half, unless I’m mistaken?

Coin Toss (New Laws) - Question

That’s what I thought. The wording makes it seem that if opponents choose first half kick off, the opponents get second half AND to choose which end they attack.

    Arsenal v Everton Women

Didn't Ronaldo get 6 games or something similar? Disgraceful that's only a yellow

    Newcastle v Southampton

Yes, that's the point I'm making - I agree with you!

    Newcastle v Southampton

Ah fair enough, I recall it being further out, my bad! Will have a look for another example later and get back to you

    Newcastle v Southampton

Yes, the point being though that you seem fixated on this notion that the ball is too wide when there are a lot of DOGSO calls correctly given when the ball is wider

    Return

All about looking confident. I don’t mean walk around like you own the place - but be as friendly as you normally are, don’t let up that things are getting to you. The second you let that slip they’ll pounce. During the game, strong body language and whistle technique, show you’re in charge from...

    DOGSO, of a different kind....

On the first one, the ball is rolling out of play as the attacker goes down so technically no card. I think football expects something here though. Second one I think there’s an argument for reckless but I can see careless too. Neither DOGSO

    Newcastle v Southampton

@Ciley Myrus do you genuinely believe this or are you too stubborn to admit you were wrong? A couple of weeks ago you were praising the non-advantage and subsequent DOGSO Attwell played in the Swansea game - that even was further out than this...there was one the other day where the player was...

    Man City V Tottenham (20/04)

Is there any evidence for this or is it just a sweeping generalisation? It’s completely irrelevant to a ref’s forum 6th minute I think, I’m a blue myself and thought he was lucky to escape without a booking. Even if it wasn’t, there are definitely a few as you say that would have been on...

    Man City V Tottenham (20/04)

Don’t want to start a debate but there’s nothing inherently wrong with being a teenage father...don’t equate age to recklessness

    Narwich v Day after Tuesday

    Not a Leeds fan!

    Narwich v Day after Tuesday

Disagree, sticks the leg out and the play jumps down. I see what you're saying but I struggle to see it as anything other than simulation

    Narwich v Day after Tuesday

Think that's a dive and a half, but once it's been given, it's a red. Look at the referee's positioning though - stays central and is jogging up through the counter attack, no attempt to get any sort of angle. Really doesn't help himself there

    Newcastle v Southampton

Over the length of a half (traversed in a matter of seconds) that is easily rectifiable with one touch

    Newcastle v Southampton

How does one ascertain likelihood? In the absence of any definition, of course we have to take into account everything we know about the players involved. How do you determine whether something is likely?

    Newcastle v Southampton

Disagree. If you’re judging the likelihood of getting control of the ball, of course it’s going to be a factor. It certainly won’t be a huge one, but a factor nonetheless
