Red card for a hiding sub

For clarity (as I see this as quite likely to happen), if you can't ID the player / sub / official; then it's the most senior (ie Manager) who would get the RED (at which point I'd expect him to offer up the offender).

    Post Lockdown games

Yes, instead of dropping it, put it on the ground, trap it under your foot and release when ready. Materially no difference to dropping it - as long as both teams know what you're doing.

Why not 'foot-on-the-ball' instead of having to handle it?

    Villa v Blades

Because keeper fell into the side netting, the ball was physically behind the goalpost, taking away any doubt as to whether it was a goal or not. Dog & duck, we'd check nets etc, so would they have checked system with a ball before kickoff and more importantly in this case at halftime?

    2020/2021 season registration. Wait?

Lots of weekly data from ONS here:- https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/national-covid-19-surveillance-reports, currently this lot adds up to give an R = 1, but remove the Care Homes and Hospitals (where R must be a lot higher) then you are left with a much smaller R number. The other...

    2020/2021 season registration. Wait?

Bottom line issue is the 'R' number and we talk about London v. N.West v. Germany etc; why is not about the R number for Care Homes v. Hospitals v. Supermarkets v. Changing Rooms v. Football Fields; surely that is the real issue and if those numbers were published, then we'd have a better...

    Grimsby player retrospective punishment

Never heard it used on/off the field and don't consider it as offensive as some terms. Here's where I recall it recently being used in sport:- https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2016/apr/05/joe-marler-ban-fine-gypsy-boy-harlequins - £20k fine and 2-matches. Quite a few other football cases pop...

    tottenham v norwich penalties

Spot on ONE, it's the simplest / quickest / objective call for VAR, so why not use it? Keepers would soon adapt. LOTG applied correctly. Example set for lower tier football. A + mark for VAR. Where's the downside?

    Man Utd Vs Brugge

I was behind the goal and could see the offence was DOGSO, the intervention and time taken by VAR was puzzling; the potential impact of that long long delay was on the nerves of the kicker - that was wrong, and there would have been more said if he'd bottled it. My questions are (following a...

How long does the FA level 1 coaching certificate last before you need to do level 2?

To my knowledge, you don't ever 'lose-it', but you do need to refresh several elements (First-Aid, CRC, Safe-guarding etc) every few years.

Simulation appeal dismissed - ICT v Rangers Colts

If you look at the 'diver', the 'perpetrator' and both teams reactions, they all say 'foul'. All I can think is that the 'diver' must have had 'previous' that swayed the referee and all 3 panel members.

    Tottenham Hotspur vs Man City

Anyone switch-over and watch the rugby - have you heard the arguments about the TMO? Me neither. Why is that? Because IMO the TMO and Referee are seen to ‘work together’ to logically come to a conclusion AND you can hear their reasoning. Another ‘why is that?’ A goalkeeper off his line, must...

    Liv v Utd

So if the team know there will be a VAR review - was the 'crowding' aimed at trying to influence VAR? Does the VAR see the 'crowding' before the review (I would suspect they do)?

Not sure what this ref was thinking...

I've always had a 1 metre 'pace' (useful as an Engineer), so they get 9 and if asked I tell them it's in metres. Perhaps, this is where VAR's expertise will next go to?
