Believe the referee signals for a foul in the box hence the confusion. Basis given is this referee doesnt normally signal for goals as well as where he goes to after signalling.
Not sure the whistle goes after the balls in the net, otherwise the goal could have stood.

Sure but its here its likely officials will decide which colour they are wearing to avoid clashing with the teams.
In mctones case, they could have asked one of the teams if they had an alternative kit. Not sure if they checked kit colours before match day or found out on day of match.

Only if they clash with the opposition team. Another day, they have a ref who has colours that doesnt clash.
For the record most officials here will likely have some variation if black, purple, red, yellow, green and blue.
Might want to look at getting a power tank pen for when its raining and card skins.
As for masking tape and a sharpie, why not try in the house with some water on the card and see how it goes
