The throw in is irrelevant, when the ball is headed forward by the red player if his team mate is in an off side position then he is off side. I don't see the debate
If you look at the laws of the game the first note under law 5 - the referee - is to enforce the laws of the game.
So to ignore a law of the game to prevent a bit of **** ( excuse my French) is totally wrong.
Would you have acted differently if you were being assessed?
Can't help noticing that hose shook hands with all the spurs officials before the end of the game. Total disrespect for me. Can not stand the man no class. As for not making a fuss, he has been playing fourth officials and assistant refs as long as he has been playing the media. As a ref I...
I responded to an offer of a signed book a few weeks ago but didn't hear anything. Anyway Halsey is doing a sportsmans dinner locally where i go , so i have got the book ready for him to sign personally. Today I have received a mail and his wife is getting in contact soon to send the book £14...
No interviews to the media for refs, there is only One way that would go.
If a manager wants clarification then fine speak with the manager. The refs duty is to the FA and the participants in the game not to Geoff Stelling
I would and have taken the stance mick has here, a quick comment to show that you have acknowledged that the fouled player has tendencies to exaggerate both empathises with the defender who has fouled and slightly embarrasses the fouled player which is a good thing
I thought the second actually hit his head so no foul, if I thought it hit his hand at the position he was I would give a penalty. Maybe I need glasses
For me the defender gets himself within playing distance of the ball in between attacker and ball then the attacker kicks the back of the defenders leg. No foul.
Matty, when you are on your own and doing the offsides on your own it is very hard ton get every decision correct. I pride myself on trying to be in the best position to do so but you can't always be there. Go with instincts
I like to watch Michael Oliver for the positions he takes up, always up with play but understands the game enough not to get too close. Sometimes I find I am getting too close, I suppose it depends on the level of the game.
I also like Lee Probert, just for the fact that he looks like he...
Although you feel you made a mistake with the goal/offside you did not make a mistake with the sending off. Being called a cheat is beyond redemption no matter what the circumstances.
I don't know slim? I'm LFA, should put that in my profile, will amend asap. He reminded me of an old army sergeant, was an old school teacher, a right old stickler.
Don't shoot the messenger, just passing on an incident reported to me.
A ref is asked by the bench if they can make a sub, so the player goes off and the sub drops out of the sky on a parachute, what do do now??
Was he correct to caution for descent:confused::D
This Saturday I had pulled this striker for being offside 3/4 times, each one he pissed and moaned. Anyway he challenges for a ball with defending red, striker thinks it has come off red so allows it to go out, it clearly came off the striker so I gave a red throw.
A strop later and he...
Alright Karl, I saw you at the RA meeting. Good luck. This is a good place for asking questions your not quite sure of, even if you think it sounds stupid, just ask same as the RA.
Have you decided on your leagues for next season yet
Although like you say you don't think the handball was deliberate. You said his arm was in an unnatural position, from which he gained an obvious advantage which would be easier to sell to the one player (red) that to the whole of the Blues.
This is what I did, i thought it was the simplist thing to do, and TBF to the player he muttered "i hope the management are going to pay for this, they told me to come on" which I did have a laugh with him about.
The thing that riled me was that the lad on the side line that gave me **** is...
I thought this afterwards, so I should have cautioned, which I did then asked him to leave the field of play. But seeing as I had stopped play to administer the yellow (other sides GK had in his hand when I blew, so became a IDFK) it seemed daft to ask him to leave then bring him on in the next...
