    New Assessment Marking

Example assessments Edit: These really aren't the best examples really, so quite disappointed in the FA.

    New Assessment Marking

Competencies: Competencies | 7-6 Performance Competency 1 – Application of Law · Did the Referee apply law correctly at all times – paying specific attention to fouls and misconduct? · Did the Referee demonstrate the ability to be able to distinguish challenges that were fair and foul? ·...

    Has promotion got tougher?

There are no correlations or hidden agendas - they were all marked against the same competencies as the last years. Different referees, different performances. If you referee the standard required, regardless of who you have upset / impressed, and match all criteria, you will be promoted. Only...

    6-5 assessments

I got my 7-6, 6-5 and 5-4 in three years, one after another, and know many in the same boat - different referees, different progression. Ref1995, disregard the current assessor handbook Matty has attached (sorry Matty) this is now redundant, as the assessment scheme is not completely...

Any point putting match on wholegame if no cards?

WGS is slowly becoming mandatory across the county. The option for no disciplinary action are for those referees who want to keep a full record of all their matches. The WGS can do this. It's also there for when the WGS becomes even more advanced, more similar to MOAS.

    New season, New assessments

David - the referee assessor should make contact with you several days before the game, directly before the game, and hold a post-match debrief. Report to your RDO / RDM

    Reporting another ref

My advice is to stay clear. Reputations mainly. There is a possibility that there was a late change, so it isn't the referee you're thinking about. IMO - things will sort themselves out eventually i.e. the referee will soon be found out.

    Touchline flag sticks

Ring up A&H directly - they have loads of spares etc... and can do you a deal. E.g. I had to get some new end-locks and one plastic tube.

What are our thoughts on this?

I agree - the tackle itself is a caution.

    What would you do???

Yellow card, regardless of whether they know each other. This is a high level of football, with a large amount of spectators. Players should be setting an example.

    Mark Heywood (Wigan vs Bmth)

Not very respectful IMO Steve. Yes, he may have had a 'shocker' but doesn't give you ground to publicly humiliate him. Use his performance to predict why he is wrong, and what could have been done differently. I am sure that you have had shockers too... We all have... All you can do is learn...

    What happens here?

Bester - you have proven me wrong - thanks! What a fascinating scenario - I really have no clue what the correct procedure is!

    What happens here?

This is certainly a drop ball, it is an outside interference

    What happens here?

Dropball from where the offence occurred for outside interference. Caution the sub for entering the pitch without your permission.

Nothing to see here. Move on

Gents - I think we are being a bit harsh on John. Cut him some slack. Yes, John has done wrong, and he knows this, no need to continue belittling him. Moral of the story = John, in the future, do not insist on shaking hands with players. It is similar to forcing players to come to you when...

AFCON2015 Trickery in CIV v Mali

Good decision by the referee. This happened when I had my last 5-4 assessment (a few weeks ago). I did exactly the same as the referee. The assessor did not mention it in his post match and written report - so either missed it, or didn't know what I was doing but didn't want to question it! I...

    Straight Red

A reason to keep team sheets. If the team try and cover their tracks, you have evidence to ruin it.
