    Crystal Palace vs Millwall

Maybe it will sound like I'm making excuses for him but could the sun in his eyes be a factor how he did not see the incident fully? Somehow the linesman missed it aswell so I do have some sympathy. However this is what VAR is for, to clear up the clear and obvious errors such as this one. I...

    AFC Bournemouth vs Wolves

I heard conflicting reports that the technology has failed but when I hear that, I assume failed mechanically or did it just 'fail' in respect it could not make a decision because of the amount of players involved? Either way, I think this incident could lead to it not being introduced in the...

    Crystal Palace vs Millwall

He must not of seen the contact with the studs on the head and unless we were right in Michael Olivers position then we will never know if he saw that or not, giving it would seem he gave no sanction would suggest he just didn't see it but maybe the linesman could of. I think in fairness to...

    Crystal Palace vs Millwall

I wonder if Oliver even thought there was contact to the head as he played on because surely he would of stopped play if he thought there was contact. Would of been interesting if VAR would of intervened if palace scored which they almost did.

    Man Utd vs Ipswich

Tbf to Darren England, he probably was unsighted but what did surprise me was how many replays he had to look at to finally make a decision and then we had further slight delay where he was looking for the player to explain why he was going to send him off before actually sending him off, surely...

    Man Utd vs Ipswich

And even then, it took Darren England a good while at the screen to perhaps be fully convinced that it's SFP. I actually thought coupled with him taking a while at the screen and then looking for the player to talk to him before doing the VAR signal to give a red, he was going to give a yellow...

    Getafe Vs Real Betis

I think red card also but what's the difference between this and Lewis Skelly's red card? I suspect most refs in the PL would give yellow in all honesty.

    Everton vs Man Utd

Dale Johnson wrote in his review that the referee thought Maguire fouled Young possibly by a pull on the shirt so when the VAR checked that and didn't see Maguire commit a foul, he had to recommend an on field review because the pictures showed in his opinion Maguire did not make a foul...

    Bournemouth vs Wolves

I think the first season of VAR, there was quite a high amount of yellow cards on field upgraded to a red via VAR which either gives the theory referees were playing it safe(as downgrading a red to a yellow would probably look more of an error) or the threshold for SFP was exposed via VAR...

    Everton vs Man Utd

Well if you think the intervention meant the on field decision was correct then surely it's yes it was right for VAR to intervene. Maybe Madley thought Young was tripped and if he said that on the comms then that is a clear and obvious error, I won't hold my breath on that though because going...

    Bournemouth vs Wolves

Seems quite rare these days for a referee to produce a straight red card for SFP but of course when a referee does make a "brave" decision(Michael Oliver), he gets hammered by everyone so in one way I don't blame them for going a safe yellow first and then see if VAR gets involved. In fairness...

    Arsenal v West Ham

Out of interest, is this a DOGSO because of the keepers positioning or should it be classed as a DOGSO even if the keeper was in his 18 yard box? I mean the other defender was nowhere near and the attacker would be through on goal.

    Everton vs Man Utd

I think you can argue in this case Young just chucked himself and try and take advantage of the slight(or fleeting as PGMOL like to use) shirt pull whereas Jota there was virtually no contact with the defender and it was all instagated by Jota so trying to deceive the referee. It's certainly...

    Bournemouth vs Wolves

Well the MOTD pundits perhaps unsurprisingly disagree with this being a red card and in fairness to Shearer I do see his point that the point of contact from the Bournemouth player is caused because hia foot slipped from contact with the ball. I'm in two minds with this because contact was high...

    Everton vs Man Utd

I agree, there was a slight shirt pull at times but Young just chucked himself to the floor, he was not pulled back and impeded and nor was he fouled by the feet either which is could be why the referee awarded the penalty. So the question for me, should Young recieved a second yellow card for...

    Leicester v Brentford

It's going to be the classic non VAR intervention of he's already on his way down before the contact with the foot. So I don't see an issue with the non intervention, maybe if the Brentford player was not already falling over and then the contact happens then he's got a strong case for a pen

Yep I'm really surprised Webb thinks the VAR should of intervened and I can't help but think if we didn't had the over the top reaction, he would of went more with this is a classic example of "referees call" where it's probably the classic orange card and some refs would go yellow and some red...

    Mic’d Up

Regarding the Lewis Skelly incident then I'm disappointed at the lack of description from the referee "red card on the ankle" is hardly much of a description for the VAR to go on. Compare that to the Scottish VAR audio and you can see the referees are instructed to describe what they have saw...

Hopefully we see the incident in the Chelsea Bournemouth game where it's the closest we got to a referee rejecting an review when the VAR recommended a red card and the referee saw it and only thought it was a yellow card.

    Liverpool v Wolves

We all know how it works by now, say your going to clamp down on dissent, do it quite strictly early on and then gradually as the season goes on it fades away. Amazed Jota didn't receive a yellow for that dive. Just thankfully for Simon Hooper's case, he was not already on a yellow.
