    Timekeeping and 4th Official

Yes, or try and get close enough towards the end of the half to shout to confirm your decision.

    WOL Vs WHU

The player obstructed the line of sight from the header, not directly from the corner. From what I've just seen on the highlights, looks like a correct decision.

playing advantage then issuing a straight red for SFP

This is my thinking also. I'd be surprised if a level 7 played advantage on a red card in that situation, never mind an EFL referee.

    "You're biased ref!"

I did wonder that, I think that's one thing that I struggle to differentiate between regarding insinuating cheating. For me it came across more USB but I can completely understand the argument for a dissent caution. Edit - I tend to class dissent more as general shouting at the referee, by...

    "You're biased ref!"

I had a player recently, ball in play, question my integrity. Stop play, IDFK, yellow card for usb. This was at step 5/6. He didn't directly call me a cheat, but there was insinuation there. I'd actually heard a player earlier in the game do something similar but couldn't pick out who it was...

    Timekeeping Error

Not the exact situation, but a similar one in a pre season friendly at the start of this season. Step 3/4 club, I was AR. Photographer was taken ill around 7 minutes before half time. Defib taken to him and both teams medical staff called to treat him. Play continued for a couple of minutes...

    Bellingham Red Card

I think he's slightly unlucky with his timing, but also, should be MAKING SURE there's no chance of an attack if he's going to blow there. Still poor imo.

    Bellingham Red Card

I agree it isn't fair on the DT, but surely for your own match control in a game that's currently a draw, it makes sense to allow it to play out to a more neutral area? Even an attacking throw in before the team has taken it would surely be preferable? We've now got 2 different posters stating...

    Bellingham Red Card

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/68453827 Jude is sent off after the final whistle for, I presume, OFFINABUS. Goal scored by Real Madrid but whistle had been blown a little before it went in. I haven't seen the match or highlights etc, only going on the above link. If it's to be...

Carabao Final - CHE V LIV

I would've seen you last night as I was at Warwick as well. I got involved in some of the discussions, and actually found the event quite useful. Especially regarding looking at who initiated contact on fouls. Don't want to drag this off topic though

    County cup final appointment

I had one in my first season, as a 4O, but COVID meant that no finals were actually played. After that I think we didn't have CC competitions for a couple of seasons. I got one in my next season, a line. Not had anything this season and appointments are out. I know of a young lad, new...

    DOGSO + Offside

There must still be a sanction for the reckless tackle. Swap reckless tackle for violent conduct, you'd still dismiss the player even though it's a defensive free kick, in law it's not different for reckless play or serious foul play.

    Whole game system

I know it's an old thread, but for anyone who comes across it and is new, you need to still take subs for roll on roll off in cup games, as if there's an issue with player eligibility after the game, you may have to refer to your notes to see if the player played or not. I take subs, and just...

    manager mouth after game

I think this will be me when I decide I'm not/realise I'm not good enough to go up the refereeing ladder. I already annoy Sunday League teams by refereeing them properly (as shown by my game yesterday), so give me 20 years or so, maybe less, and it'll be me I'm sure.

    Mmm satisfying!

What happens if the non-offending player doesn't react, so is unlikely to have been offended, but you deem the offending players attitude to be aggressive?

    Public Bollockings

Yes, if you can, don't back yourself into a corner. I use a phrase like "you're running a fine line now for offence(s), any more and you're likely to get a card". That way you're giving a strong warning, letting the player know they're on your radar, and if it's a warning about a couple of...

When to switch to Open Age?

I was 28, and started on Sunday morning youth middles, and Saturday afternoon lines. I wanted to watch other referees and learn from them whilst on the line. Can you do lines on a league for a few games then move into adult middles? To add : when did you do your first adult game? I would say...
