How lenient are you with OFFINABUS

I have to say my tolerance levels for dissent/OFFINABUS are very low. If someone continues shouting and bellowing after a second or two, they get a sin bin (or YC if a coach). If it is offensive, they can go in the bin. I understand that frustrations can get high - but players need to control...

    Juve Vs Galatasary

I can understand the yellow, as the player should make an effort to control landing better an this can be seen as reckless, especially with the slight secondary movement. I feel the straight red is a stretch, especially for a VAR intervention.

    LIV v MCI

No. As if he doesn’t commit the foul he gets a shot off. Which he wasn’t able to do at that point due to the pull.

    LIV v MCI

I think penalty/foul goal would be a great thing (penalty try) - rugby really has the laws better in terms of spirit of the game. But correct outcome in terms of the laws, but a shame as I agree that every footballing person wants the goal. Ref/VAR hands tied.

    Grimsby penalty

Shouldn’t be the referee getting slated here, but the player for cheating. Am I correct that the dive can be punished after the game?

    Arrested for an elbow/assault

This is everything that is wrong in football. I know as a referee I’d be gutted if I missed this, but good to see that it had gone above football. This is vile, cowardly and has no place in our sport!

    Sheffield Utd vs Charlton

This is interesting. I think the first RC is absolutely nailed on. Second I had to slow down. I think it is more subjective. I feel that there was intent in the 2nd so I think a red seems credible - difficult to see from this angle. Personally, think the referee did well (except for dropping...

    Man Utd vs Man City

Only just seen this, it’s nasty. Should be a red imo. For me it being glancing is irrelevant, it definitely endangers safety of the opponent. It’s out of control.

    Arsenal vs Liverpool

Thought the Martinelli behaviour was absolutely shocking. Think the YC is correct in law, although I think anyone in football wanted a RC! This is directly because of play acting from players though. Players MUST take responsibility because it’s becoming a ‘cry wolf’ situation now. Faking head...

    Everton vs Wolves

Hair pulling should just be a red card. Perhaps it could be Violent and/or Unacceptable Conduct…. Which can include grabbing of genitals, hair pulling, biting etc.? Think Moyes will always find someone else to blame… like most managers would. He should have substituted JG about 5 minutes before...

    Everton vs Wolves

I think the reason it has to be a red (in my extremely biased opinion) is that there is a clear grab of the hair and a tug. It doesn’t take much force for hair pulling to be painful. Like biting/grabbing of genitals, it is just not allowed. Players will have to learn.

    Everton vs Wolves

Would be interested to hear other, unbiased opinions.

    Everton vs Wolves

I’m biased as a WWFC fan, but he had a good game. First red is nailed on. Clear action to tug the hair. Grabs it, and tugs in opposite direction to movement - it’s a VC red nailed on. Don’t understand the moaning about it. Grealish gave TK no choice. He seemed like he was completely fuelled...

    Darren England VAR

I think there is contact that was not seen by referee - but I still think it’s a foul. Getting a touch on the ball is not everything. I think it is worth the referee having a look tbh, but this just shoots us in the foot - getting the ball in itself isn’t everything. However - glad VAR kept...

    Sunday mornings eh?

I don’t do any Sunday morning games anymore. Not worth the agro or early morning wake up!

    West Ham v Tottenham

Thought this was very soft… more of a foul from Fernandez, if anything. Excellent quick red for the SFP later on though.

    Submitting sanctions

Yep. Always put them through (especially if it is a competitive game!). I am a complete square and will put them through in friendlies too. Just less hassle!

    Open Age Young referee threatened

Absolutely. It needs a buy in from referees in all counties etc.

    Open Age Young referee threatened

I think part of the training should be a mentor coming to see a couple of games - or group up the refs together to support each other. Refereeing is a tough craft - I remember one of the old guards coming to see one of my first games from my course for support and advice - feel like this part...

    CHE vs FUL

What I do agree with is that I’m not sure that it warranted VAR intervention. I think if it is given in real time, nothing is said. Watching this space.
