I've gone to submit cautions from a pre-season match yesterday to discover that WGS seems to think I'm an 'intermediary' (football agent), rather than a referee. Has this happened to anyone else and does any know who to contact to correct this so I can submit a report?

i basically had the same thing happen to me in January. Player got off scot free as I didn’t get a name and abandoned for my own safety. Club fined £80

There are teams in one of my leagues with as many as 12 league fixtures and up to 4 cup games left… going to be a struggle! Weather has been dreadful here. 3 of my 4 matches cancelled this week including a cup final and cup semi. Fingers crossed for some sun

Same applies to referees moving county... I moved house last year and changed county affiliation, but all my shirts have my old county FA badge on. No eyelids batted yet! If the new country FA want me to wear their badge they are welcome to buy me a new shirt... otherwise it'll have to wait...

Same as you Big Cat. I’m over 400 middles now and I can only recall 2 reds for SFP in that time, although perhaps there have been more. I’ve had about 20 middles this season with 4 reds. VC: 2 DOGSO: 1 OFFINABUS: 1 And three of those reds were for the same team in the same match!

I’ve only had to do this once but it was this season. Club linesman (a sub) was making a series of digs at the opposition striker - too loud to ignore. I told the manager and captain he needed to be replaced and they were happy to do so, although the sub himself ended up with a caution in the end

In the context of easy to sell reds, I’d argue that some SFPs can be harder to explain at a lower level if you’re a new ref. Not the blindingly obvious though.

It may surprise you but reds are often ‘easier’ to give than yellows. VC, OFFINABUS, egregious SFP and spitting (although I’m yet to encounter the latter) are such nailed-on reds that you won’t feel guilty or controversial in sending the offender for an early bath. The exceptions to this...

I think it’s right to caution given the circumstances and to negate a mass brawl or the like… But what actually is the caution for here in law? Surely it cant be a stopping a promising attack… it’s either DOGSO if the attacker was going to get the ball, or just a plain handball + no caution if...

Not to me personally, think it sounds quite relatable in terms of player behaviour (particularly in the area in which he referees, which I’ve dabbled in)

As James said, it’s where you draw the line personally. If you’re happy with it, I’m with you. For myself, I’d be getting the captain and keeper together for a chat. Next time anyone on that team crosses the line, they’re in the bin
