    Players constant moaning

Exactly. If the clamped down on this at the top, we would see the benefits lower down.

    Players constant moaning

Agreed on both comments, but when they watch top level football and how players get away with total verbal abuse of an official then what do they expect to happen at youth football?

    Players constant moaning

So I was watching spurs and United on the box and I couldn’t believe how much players moan to the ref and get away with it. Bruno was especially bad. What chance do we have if this is what they see on the box? My question is at what point do you sanction and under what laws?

    Some clubs are rotten

I do girls football on a Saturday. Open age sounds like an idea and then I can also do promotion.

    Some clubs are rotten

Not gonna lie…..my mind drifted to it a lot. I was in the middle the next match and thankfully having to focus kept me from thinking too much about it. What’s worse, is I haven’t heard a word from league ref secretary even though I’ve messaged him and I know he has read it. We’ve all filed...

    Thinking of quitting.

I love reffing, but this season has put me off on the grounds of my safety. I moved to a different league and while I’ve had challenging games in my previous league, I have never had this level of abused violent threats, actual violence against me from players, coaches, and parents. It reached...

    Some clubs are rotten

Done that. Please check if I have missed anything. The way I feel at the moment, I wouldn’t care if I got banned from reffing as this isn’t what I signed up for.

    Some clubs are rotten

I understand that this team is disbanding as they aged out, so punishment is pretty much irrelevant.

    Some clubs are rotten

So today I did 3 matches during finals day. 1 centre and 2 on the line. First match was on the line and I was parents side. Ref gave a clear penalty and I can’t name the side, but it is the u18 side of the same club that I had a parent threaten me for on the u13. Anyway. Centre gave a clear...

    PSG vs Arsenal

I thought it’s harsh, but once VAR called him over he had to give it. The game management was a ref masterclass. Didn’t blow for every little contact. Didn’t fall for the falling over from the gentlest of touches.

    PSG vs Arsenal

Master class in refereeing for me. Let the game flow. Didn’t fall for cheap fouls. Even the penalty was a handball. I was really impressed.

    Quick KO myth

With a direct free kick….once they ask for a wall, then i tell the attacking team to wait for my whistle. I won’t have a wall being set up and catch the keeper off guard.

    Arsenal vs Bournemouth

I know that under current rules they can’t, but I do wish the ref at the option to ask for it. Maybe I’m adding more complication to it.

    Arsenal vs Bournemouth

They could have asked the ref to look at it and make a decision on that.

    Quick KO myth

Tough one. If he disallowed it for offside, there is no need for a wait for whistle restart so yeah in theory they can take a quick free kick. Not sure I would allow one, but is there a reason not to?

    Once again threatened with violence

I haven’t seen the code of conduct, but it should be mandatory to sign it if you want your child to play in any league.

    Once again threatened with violence

Yes I have. No shortage of witnesses. I’ve been thinking about this a lot. All parents should side a code of conduct when signing up their children to clubs. This code must include financial penalties and they should be hefty to prevent parents/coaches behaving so poorly. The league should...

    Abandoned game due to abuse.

Exactly this. It’s instilled at grassroots level and is enforced on the professional level. If the top level didn’t allow it then that would trickle down. Forget sin bin. Make it an instant red card with a 3 match ban. 2nd offence in same season….6 match ban. That will soon stop it. The...

    Once again threatened with violence

Thanks for all the replies. My report just stated the facts as they happened. No speculation of any sort. There are plenty of witnesses to what happened and hopefully the FA will deal with it accordingly.

    Quick KO myth

Yup. I happen to have seen the clip where they explain that in the World Cup, another player pushes a player onto the pitch during the celebration in order to prevent it. It’s such nonsense. Can you imagine a ref blowing for KO without any of the players on the pitch?
