    Germany v Ghana

Interesting tactic to have an attacker wide of the penalty area on the side where the ball is going to be played. Likely to be first to the ball if parried by the goalkeeper. Legal as behind the ball.

How lenient are you with OFFINABUS

I had an interesting discussion with a coach after a recent match where I was the Observer. He was kicking a ball with his 3-year-old son. He asked me my view of the game, and we discussed the outcome (but not the officiating) - his team had won. I asked him how it was that here he was...

    Bournemouth vs Man United

The point of my post was the wording "If the referee has authorised . . . " Whether the Head Coach/Manager/ etc want the physio to go on or not, "If the referee has authorised . . ." is the decider here.

    Bournemouth vs Man United

Law says "If the referee has authorised the doctors and/or stretcher bearers to enter the field of play, the player must leave on a stretcher or on foot. A player who does not comply must be cautioned for unsporting behaviour"

Changing facilities at premier level for u18s

By a very strange coincidence, as an Observer I received my match confirmation yesterday for a Step 6 match this week, and it included a request for the away club to advise whether Under-18 players will be included, so that appropriate dressing room arrangements can be made. First time I've...

Changing facilities at premier level for u18s

Premier League and associated clubs must provide separate changing facilities for Under-18's. Team hotel bookings are covered by the same set of regulations.

    Offsides

If only one member of the attacking team can go for the ball, and they are in an offside position, experienced referees will whistle immediately to avoid the goalkeeper/attacker contact. Similar situation arises when a winger chases the ball along the touchline, with no other attackers able to...

    Most red cards

In this case, the red cards appear to have been issued after the match. Odd!

    Munster v Hertha

It was a brief delay - they plugged it back in.

SkySports reporting of the proposed new IFAB laws

If the change does come in as discussed here, the Brentford goalkeeper needs to go down "injured" until Kayode has wandered across to take the throw🫢😁🥵

    MOAS Designations

From memory, Steve, I think it is Women's FA Cup(?) Was discussed on here about 3 seasons back.

    Leeds v Man City

The chants from the home supporters are worse than a bunch of childish booing.

Possible to gain promotion by the end of the season?

It will depend to a large degree on the number of available qualifying matches in your area, and the availability of Match Day Coaches to watch you. If you don't fit them in, as @Archer has said, you can carry over.

    Forest v Liverpool

No, the team of three can concentrate on everything else😁 Great experience for the younger/ newer officials, who are put into teams with senior colleagues.

    Forest v Liverpool

Yes - teams of three alternating between refereeing and acting as AR throughout the afternoon.

    Forest v Liverpool

I refereed at a youth league 6-a-side competition when a player collected the ball from the second row of the (nearly empty) grandstand and threw from there. The throw was not the most accurate, and hit the AR on the back of the neck😕 Both teams claimed the restart, of course.

Handball after ball hits another body part

The Rules also include: "What happens if? A player is hit on the hand/arm by the ball from a team-mate’s kick/header? This is not a handball (unless the ball goes directly into the opponents’ goal or the player scores immediately afterwards, in which case a direct free kick is awarded to the...
