    Tactical Injury Breaks

It has definitely had an impact as teams have conceded when a player has been off, and from what I can see this is usually when there has been a genuine injury. I don't really have a problem with that though as treatment isn't supposed to happen on the pitch so genuinely injured players should...

    Livingstone Vs Rangers

I don't think many / any top level referees would be going DOGSO there, at the time he was about to shoot there's a defender running across the front of him. The ball was also bobbling around so there's a big question mark over control. One that I suspect VAR would be leaving alone whichever...

    Tottenham vs Arsenal

You really need to get off the Man City "they've all got it in for us" fan forums 🤣 Peter Bankes clearly waited until the goal was scored before he gave the free kick. I agree with @JamesL, I'd rather not see that given as a free kick as it encourages cheating, but I can understand why it was...

    Forest v Liverpool

It It clearly hit his elbow, he even said so himself afterwards. You see the arm jerk forward, there was no guesswork here, the naked eye could see it hit his arm.

    Tottenham vs Arsenal

For it to fail at the start of the second half as well really isn't good enough. They must surely test it before they leave the changing room, how did it fail between leaving there and reaching the pitch? I wonder if it is as simple as the batteries running out, in which case just put new ones...

    Tottenham vs Arsenal

Get your point, but from what I could work out there was no issue with Peter Bankes's audio and communication with VAR, it was purely with Blake Antrobus's comms. In that case I do have some sympathy with Neville's view, do they really need to stop the game for 7 minutes just for an AR's audio...

    Hashtag United - "Spin" throw-ins

Yeah, does appear to be their first team. Continually penalising throws like that certainly isn't going to help his club marks.

    Hashtag United - "Spin" throw-ins

They play at step 3 so I'm going to make the bold assumption that this is their reserves or development team. Find it extremely hard to believe that a referee can get to, and stay at, level 3 with behaviours like that.

    Rochdale Vs Scunthorpe

Odd behaviour yes, but he didn't headbutt him as you claimed

    Rochdale Vs Scunthorpe

No, I wouldn't, it would be a caution for AAA. He absolutely did not headbutt him. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a good look and no referee should be doing it, but he also wouldn't be the first. I give you this ...

    Rochdale Vs Scunthorpe

Maybe not, but he didn’t headbutt him as you claimed.

    Wolves v Arsenal

Isn’t Isn’t that the same signal as the refereeing indicating that there has been an alleged racial incident?
  13. R

    Wolves v Arsenal

I watch a lot of football and see it in every game that I watch, whether on the TV or at a ground. It is one law change that has worked really, really well and undoubtedly has improved the game.

    Tactical Injury Breaks

Making an outfield player go off would only be a deterrent in England at the pro level as the 30 second rule isn’t in place anywhere else. I’d rather see an exclusion zone, during an injury players cannot go within 20 metres of the technical areas and all coaches have to remain seated.

    Weather Forecast - Pitch Inspections

I don't really see any easy answer here. If the referee turns up to do an inspection and the pitch is 100% perfect there's no way he can call it off regardless of any future weather forecast. When there have been severe weather warnings the FA have allowed proactive call offs, but with the...

    Benfica vs Real Madrid

UEFA certainly have some sorting out to do there.

    Aston Villa v Newcastle

Agree, I liked him as a referee but as a refereeing "expert" he speaks absolute nonsense. Has developed the Hackett trait of almost always going against whatever the referee did, even if doing so contradicted what he had said previously in the season for a near identical incident.

    Aston Villa v Newcastle

t talkSPORT seem to have dropped both Keith Hackett and Mark Halsey in favour of him when they want to talk refereeing, and that is one of the better decisions any broadcaster has ever made. Example here

    Aston Villa v Newcastle

Had Newcastle lost it probably would have stuck around for years, but as they didn't and the mistakes didn't affect the outcome of the game I'm pretty sure the only people talking about it in a few weeks' time will be us referees.
