Nope, I got a message from a fellow official asking if I could Ref it.
Had no problems and even had the PL2 team praising me saying "I'm one of the better Referees he has seen" and he is an ex pro
In really response to this, I was earlier in the season sent a message as a L7 asking me to Referee a Pre-Season game where the away team were an a Championship sides U23 team with 1 or 2 Lads that are actively playing for the first team.
The home team were a local United Counties team.
I have this today with my game which I am an Assistant on. I'm straight off to work after the match and have a game tomorrow and work again! so I wonder when my debrief will be done if he looks at me.
The email I received was
Following on from my recent email regarding referee promotions for this season, we will be extending the 2020/21 promotion season to the 30th September 2021. This will give you a greater opportunity to meet the promotion requirements for the 2020/21 season.
I have seen many young referee's that have fell out of love with the game because they have jumped too far too soon in the men's game.
I'm on my second spell as a Referee and the first time round I jumped at the chance to go men's football and it was a mistake because it's a huge difference...
10 yellows and 1 Red in the second half of a Sunday League game.
The red came after the game with the players manager who is still a qualified Reference told him to shut up and go away at least 6 times but he wouldn't head the warning
I was an assistant on a game containing Julian Joachim when he was playing in the Notts Senior League.
I've also officiated Chris Freestone (ex Middlesbrough & Northampton), Liam Hearn (ex Grimsby & Mansfield), Mark Clifford (ex Boston United & Mansfield) and a few others at Veterans level
Well I emailed my county FA regarding me having no observations as that's the only thing that may stop me and I was advised that all information will be presented to the Referee's committee and they will decide if we have no observations
This is because until the meeting today even they didn't know. It needs to be agreed across the board by the National FA before the Counties can decide as to what they are doing.
I'm personally hoping that they continue with it because I only need 1 middle in order to complete everything.
This is exactly what I do to be fair.
I officiate a number of Charity games and I always work with the same two assistants, so normally it's a quick 'You both know how I'm going to referee the game so same as usual lads' always suffices
