    Car share etiquette

Probably should have added - it’s a flat fee !

    Car share etiquette

When you car share to a game, what’s the rule of thumb money wise ? I have heard different things from different referees and there doesn’t seem to be a set way of doing it. I have heard that some offer up £5, and in some areas, nothing. I’m car sharing for a game soon, and not something I’ve...

    FA Match Fees Up.

I was quite surprised when I saw how high the fees were !

    Spain V Germany

Taylor and his senior AR just pretty much crossed over. AR gave a throw to Germany and Taylor put his arm halfway up to Spain, so some players for Spain stopped whilst Germany took a quick throw.

    England v Slovakia

I could understand why the first yellow was given, and 100% Bellingham’s was nailed on, but this is getting a little silly now. I think he’s been ‘better’ in the second half, but because he dished out so many cautions in the first half and he seems to have stopped in the second, he appears as...

    England v Slovakia

Pretty surprised that isn’t a second yellow. He dished out so many in the first half, you would have thought he was on commission !

    England v Slovakia

I think the Bellingham one was all day a caution. The first one was as well, but the other couple (or 3? Lost count- 35 mins in) maybe a warning and a bit of management. But everyone has their own opinions !

    JPL Reffing

My brother is playing JPL next season and their manager messaged me a few months back (their first season in the JPL) to ask what it’ll be like to get officials, if I know anyone who might be able to do home games, etc. It all seems very rogue and no level required to do the games.

Going back to my old booking technique

I think the more you do it, the more ‘natural’ it’ll become. I use a notebook. Admittedly, I change my procedure depending on what’s happened (even in games). I refereed a step 6 game where I had about 5 or so in the book and 1 straight RC. For the first caution, it was a reckless tackle (won...

    New kit 2024-2025

Will it definitely change from Nike ? Or will they potentially make a new deal with Nike again ?

    Promotions - Season Ending 2024

It’s the opposite in my area. Not enough 5’s who have passed the fitness test, so some more senior 5’s who haven’t passed it this season are doing the step 6 middles along with us 5’s who have passed it.

    New kit 2024-2025

Looks like TheRefStop have just released the new training kit for 24-25. It’s very bland considering what we’ve had the past few years. Interesting…….

    Interesting observation

Yes, it was a 5-4. I don’t really want to get into the grounds of appealing it and I spoke to my coach and he said that it was very strange and he’s not sure how the observer can comment on my pre match if he didn't listen to it.

    Interesting observation

I had an observation report come back from Saturday and there are a few things which are interesting. The observer said that my pre match instructions need to be clearer to my AR’s and particularly to whose responsibility it is in which half of the pitch. However, he wasn’t there when I...

    Level 4 - What Happens?

I know ! I heard from some of your buddies (🤣) Maybe move down to the best part of the country ? Great fees 🤩

    Level 4 - What Happens?

£20? We get £45 flat fee to run the line for step 5 and 6 and when I do the middle on step 6, we get £60.

    Open Age First OA Game

I think what the men want is someone who communicates with them. They want a referee who will tell them why they’ve made a decision. Usually something along the lines of ‘you may not agree with my decision, but I saw you trip his legs, that’s why I’ve given the free kick’ works for me.

FIFA referees Claus and Abatti failed CONMEBOL fitness test

Maybe it’s part of trying to cut down on the number of level 4’s as they know that there are too many ?

    Lewis Smith - PL Debut

I think it’s to do with the ERDP, and he doesn’t as such ‘have a level’. Or that’s what I have been told. Apparently they are ‘reclassifications’ rather than promotions. I don’t know much about this, but this is what I’ve heard.
