In the context of prem this season I’m surprised. I am conscious that the LotG does not say we should find whatever excuses we can to avoid sanctioning players;) But easy red for me. Wasn’t there quite a widely reported incident in the womens game recently that might have affected this?

Context. Every match and match situation is different. While stupid and disrespectful, this incident is trivial and surely the referee has been smart with the yellow here. At grassroots in a game getting out of hand, same action, maybe the smart move is a different colour card.

Our season starts in a few weeks. About 100 since start of last season. With about 1/3 of that futsal. I’ve done 7 pre-season matches and first proper match is weds night AR1 for one of my favourite young refs and it’s top level u18, which is nice.
