    Unannounced Assessment

I don't know what is wrong with an unannounced observation. We have them here all the time--in fact, we rarely know before the fact that we will be assessed. Nevertheless, this should change in no way your performance on or off the pitch on the day of.

    Old Mother Riley speaks!

Set a tape recorder. Every 10 minutes or so "decision confirmed."

    Can we? Match incident

No, I think Capetown was asking about the process of showing the second yellow card in such quick succession and then the red card as opposed to just showing the red card.

    Can we? Match incident

This was not applying two yellows in the same incident; it is two separate incidents in quick succession: namely, a reckless challenge (UB) and dissent by word or action. The referee is correct to show the yellow card twice and then the red card. There was a similar situation in the Prem some...

    Sterling advice as always ;)

    Misconduct?

You can add it into your report, but I'm not sure there is much that can be done without a name.

    Misconduct?

You should report the conduct, but the fact is that since you failed to take action during or immediately after the match (in the form of a caution or dismissal), you are unlikely to get much traction. Still, it might be useful to have the misconduct report on the record so that if anything...

    Finland Italy handball

Thanks for the clarification. In Canada, we don't use the new LOTG until next season so I have yet to learn the new law. Going on what I have been told, which is always dangerous.

    Finland Italy handball

If a defender handles the ball, even inadvertently, and he or his team gain possession as a result, it is to be penalized as a handball.

    Kit clash?

Really not an issue at all.

    Finland Italy handball

I hate the new law, but those both fall under the criteria according to the new law. The referees, at least, are correct in their application.

    Offside incident

I disagree that the goal was unfair. The player should know two things here: first, that the striker did not become involved in the play and second that the whistle had yet to go.

    Penalty or play on?

Penalty and sending off for DOGSO. Yes, he got a shot off but the defender's manhandling of him prevented him from getting a fair crack at taking the shot.

    Big Mac

Caution the player if he has actually said something wrong; trying to read some hidden deeper meaning into what they've said is asking for trouble. Maybe do have a word with the kind gentleman who is buying big macs, though; let him know you know what he is up to and he is walking a thin line...

    It's not Rugby!!!

Nonsense, direct free kick for a careless challenge. You don't get to barge your shoulder into your opponent's legs.

    After match incident

I don't really understand the reluctance to just give the jacka*s in front of you your name that some are expressing in here. Surely we all know they aren't going to report you. And even if they were to report you, what's wrong with that? Maybe the FA will eventually introduce a fine for filing...

Throw in - spinning the ball

"Honestly guys, all of your throw-ins are ****; do we want to stand here going back and forth for foul throws all day, or do we want to get on with playing football?"
