Call a game off for weather and then it clears.

Can't argue with your decision and the process you went through to reach it. Annoying though - bloody weather!

    Reading appealing against red card

    a) However slight, the shirt tug is a foul - PK b) A question of simulation or exaggeration? How he went down after the tug shouldn't, and I don't think it was, have any bearing on the card. Rescind is the best way forward on this as i don't feel that there really was an Obvious Goalscoring...

    Toure kick on Van Wolfswinkel

LMAO....TBH at full speed, first viewing I wasn;t certain of the intent - not until the replays. It looked like his foot got caught initially.

    sleepover with the f.a. cup

I was fortunate enouigh to work at Sky for over a decade, doing SPorts, News and Sports News, over that time i have collected photos of me with a number of trophies: Chaampions Legaue, Prem League Davis Cup Ryder Cup Rugby WC FA Cup and a few others :-) Also, got 'the' photo of my daughter...

    Orange Card?

You're right HW, it is more a yellow card thing, but still, it would only really be feasible at levels of the game where there are at least three officials. At grassroots, there is no way it can be managed effectively during the game. If IFAB identify those "in-between fouls committed in the...

    The amount of games.

We do it for tournaments and the like - shorter games give you more options I guess. Did 7 x 30e/w games in two days last season, last one was a semi final and the eight was AR on the final.

    Goal kicks

Fair enough then,. as long as the ball is placed on the ground, it can still be moving as long as it is within the goal area when kicked.

    Orange Card?

A caution is a punishment for the offender, not an advantage for the opposition. The offended against team gain a free kick, or penalty for the offence and therefore directly receive an advantage at the time if the incident. A suspension for accumulation of cards, is also punishment and the...

    Goal kicks

Can;t argue with any of that, Mike Jones was correct in what he did, noone would disagree, but 'unsporting behaviour' is a bit much as that deserves a YC.

    Signals

Depends, if it's an obvious punt down field and goes straight out of play, I probably wouldn't signal - everyone knows anyway! Certainly not going to sprint half the length of a pitch to signal a GK, but if it was from a deflection, or not clearly a GK, then I would get myself at least in the...

    Write on red and yellows

THe link for the ones Grayson mentions is: http://www.refsworld.com/index.php/cards/write-on-match-cards.html#.UvWJLbRqP-k I use these: http://www.refsworld.com/index.php/bundles/refsworld-rw-pack.html#.UvWJHbRqP-k which don;t require much in the way of handwriting.

    Goal kicks

Well, the ball was put out of play because a player was injured, so it is universally accepted that possession is given back from the throw in. When this happens, it is universally accepted that you pass it to the goalkeeper/defending player and not try to score. However, after the referee had...

    Suspicious Text

Ignore the numbers in the text, or the number the text came from. Call the FA and ask for the guy using the usual number.

    Goal kicks

It would appear not, but it's not something I have ever seen happen and a GK from the hands is not something I have ever considered before now. However, Norwich had a goal disallowed under 'Universal Acceptance' after the referee had signaled for the throw to be taken and in Law, the goal...

    Goal kicks

I guess because of the FIFA 'Universal Acceptance' thing. Would be too much hassle and would result in too many cards and loss of control if I allowed GKs to be kicked from the hand. Here's oping IFAB will sort it out this year.

    Proposed Changes for 2014/15?

Yep, as a referee I don't have an issue with RoRo subs - we have it in our lowest men's senior league. Maximum 4 named subs. Also the Ladies regional league has it. Not hard to manage, and less paperwork post-match! As HayWain says, at youth/junior levels it is designed to enable/maximise game...
