I'm with @The Bstard on this one. Its an opportunity. Now if the shot had been obviously flying wide a yellow. But in this case the shot is well hit and on target, for me that is an obvious goalscoring opportunity as even Hugo Lloris with a shot coming right at him could let it in.
I'll give you a clue, I'll be the one all in black religiously sticking within the centre circle where all the spectators are booing. But a bit like Wolf from Gladiators, I'll just be hamming it up to the crowd and enjoying all the abuse!
To be honest, mine hasnt left my kit bag. My other top I'd use for warming up was a proper chav tracksuit top and due to my portly figure and being from Essex I essentially looked exactly like Smithy from Gavin and Stacy.
No, we werent offered that chance. My final is next weekend anyways so not long to go. Got my letter from the FA today detailing what happens on the day and the drinks and refreshments before and after etc. Must say when reading about the boots and jewellery being checked in the tunnel etc a...
@Frank sort of similar to you, but I find I get annoyed with myself when responding to players calling for a freekick. Some days I'm fine, but other days I'll get referees tourettes and end up shouting NO or something similar every time a player claims for a freekick. I know the fact I'm not...
As I mainly referee youth football I wouldnt be touching the players personally. So many teenage boys can take offence to stuff like that, and right or wrongly as that may be, I dont want to be causing an issue that wasnt already there.
Sounds like you done the right thing, must say I'd love to see a video of this as sounds hilarious! I'm imagining like mirror image tackling! Even funnier in my mind I'm imagining the two tacklers to be identical twins! Simple things please simple minds.
Strange reaction from the guy whose a qualified ref. You'd think he would understand better that you'd only want certain things from them!
Had an old boy run the line for me the other week. I thought here we go, he'll barely keep up with play. Nicest bloke ever. Said he runs the line as he...
@David Sutton it was my understanding that the player needed to be heading towards goal for it to be a red, so often with a goal keeper the attacker is rounding him, therefore heading away from goal.
@haywain precisely the same wording for the league I'm on. Although its states "prior consent of the referee". They were sat there with big whiteboard charts and moaning they are trying to develop the players so need longer to go over everything. In reality they forced their team to play...
