Ladies Penalising 6 seconds without a warning

Yeah. I've got no doubts that I made a technically correct and completely justified decision, but the more I think about it the more I think good management of the match would have been to get in early with the warning.

Ladies Penalising 6 seconds without a warning

Yesterday I was in the middle for a pretty high level women's game (one step below our National Women's League), with two teams who are already battling to stay out of the relegation zone, 5 rounds into the competition. Red dominated most of the game, but white capitalised on their fast...

    What would you do...

There's no more clear advantage than a goal being scored! The keeper picking up the ball doesn't stop play, so you're perfectly free to apply advantage.

    Rooney penalty

For me there's a pretty logical process to follow for anyone who has doubts about this being a penalty. Just ask yourself what would have happened if Rooney hadn't jumped? Clearly the keeper would have cleaned him out, in what would have been a pretty forceful tackle - there was immediate danger...

Cardiff v Bournemouth - Disallowed Goal

Incredibly poor refereeing. There is nothing in the LOTG which prevents a player from standing his ground, other than to keep the required distance at restarts. The goalkeeper has been saved from the consequences of his own stupidity.

    Junior/Youth Another example of why I don't trust CAR's....

It's stories like these that leave me absolutely incredulous that some referees still choose to use CARs. Sure, most of them are probably fair and honest, and some of them may even be competent. But unless you know them all personally, you aren't going to know who you can trust and who you...

    Penalty or Free Kick?

Definitely a penalty, and I'll give the ref a break but thought the AR might have picked it up. What's the relevance of the circle around the ball??

    Chris Foy - WHU-SWA

Do you mean it's a poor call because he missed the handball? If so, then I agree. But given he misses the handball (and it's hard to blame him for that) how is it not an obvious goalscoring opportunity, especially given how close he comes even after being fouled?

If That was a Penalty ? Man City will win the league !!

Never. I refereed U17 girls yesterday and wouldn't have given that, let alone in the EPL.

Foul and Abusive Language v Dissent

I hope you gave him a yellow for terrible grammar.

    World Cup ESP v. NED

Brilliant game of football (although slightly biased, since my national allegiances are NZ first, Scotland second, Netherlands third). Thought Rizzoli and his team had a good game - penalty is dubious on the replay, but hard to fault him for the call with one look in real time.

    World Cup Brazil vs. Croatia

You guys are told to unfurl your flags when walking out? I find that odd - aren't we supposed to be looking as professional as possible when we come out?

    World Cup Brazil vs. Croatia

On the one hand my first impression (which is all you get on the field) is that they were both going for the ball, and I can understand how people look at that and say no foul occurred. But actually however light the contact may have been, Cesar was getting his hands to the ball until Olic...

    World Cup Brazil vs. Croatia

I'm at work so haven't seen all of the game - what are your three kmi? From what I have seen I thought the ref got the Neymar yellow card right, but it was a close one - Neymar was lucky. I haven't seen the offside call or the disallowed Croatia goal, and I think the penalty was soft (with the...

Does anyone use a wrist lanyard?

    Apparently the lawmakers thought not.

Does anyone use a wrist lanyard?

That's exactly why I can't use it for Futsal - I use the lanyard for security, and hate having it hanging down. But it's quite difficult to use the same hand to hold a whistle while counting to four on your fingers.

Does anyone use a wrist lanyard?

I have used an elasticated wrist lanyard for a while now, and find it better than any other method I've used. It gets a bit more complicated using it for Futsal though, since you are on the same side for kick-offs in either direction, and you need to signal the four seconds for dead ball...

    Advantage

I'm definitely on the side of this not being advantage. But if, as the original post suggests, you have already given advantage, you can't bring it back because the attackers next action negates the advantage already gained.

Collina: tackler going off with injured player & YC + pen for DOGSO

Well the standard of grammar in the world's media is plummeting quickly and in this, like so many other things, New Zealand is a world leader. Collina's suggestion only applies to reckless tackles - even a careless tackle which inadvertently injures the opponent will see the tackler stay on...

Collina: tackler going off with injured player & YC + pen for DOGSO

You might have a cliche you always use, but it's not part of the LOTG, and I'd rather debate potential law changes on fairness, safety and their effect on the game.
