    Anyone in Bournemouth...

Whoever gets that appointment this Sunday will need their best kit and shiny boots...I reckon there might be some media attention with Div 4 of the Hayward Sunday League this weekend.

    Anyone in Bournemouth...

Better watch out next time someone gives you the name "gazza" when you issue a caution... It might not be a false name after all! http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/28876767 Brilliant if he turns out...

    County badges

Correct...on speaking with the RDO it sounds exactly like this, and Ref Development has trumped the others this season. Hence Nike 2014 kits are on the way for all new ref's...once they get sent from Nike. Apparently demand is "unprecedented" this season.

    Important Refchat shop now open!!!

You'd be surprised how long it takes a letter to come from Exeter to us...a mere 18 miles up the road. It's another world Darren...as soon as you cross the Tamar.

    Outside Agent(s)

Oooh... me me teacher! LOTG state that the ball isn't back in play until it bounces. Which is why I was always taught to give the instructions "Gents, it's a drop ball, let it bounce once...take a step back please..." Step back simply because in Division 8 of the leagues, you're likely to end...

    County badges

Flush with cash down here clearly...all new ref's given 2 Fox 40's too...rather than the god-awful PE Teachers pea whistle. Not sure on kit, but rumours abound that it might even be Nike 2013 given out at the BRC!

    Outside Agent(s)

I'm sure some rural referees have had instances of "pitch invasions" at their lower league grounds...but this one really takes the beef! http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/aug/14/pitch-invading-cowws-peru-cup-match

    County badges

Interestingly the County badge we've been given now is a self-adhesive job...looks a little bit like a fridge magnet, but without the magnet and is extremely good at staying stuck on...and good at staying sticky. We'll see if I still feel the same after a season of torrential rain...

Hugely impressed with the quick delivery Ross, even in deepest rural Devon. Plus, such neat handwriting too!

    Premier League Fantasy Football

Ah yeah, every season...it's a bit of banter that we'll go down. We bought Enner Valencia you know...after 3 games in the World Cup! Never been scouted before that, proving that Gold and Sullivan have as much scouting knowledge as any other ITV viewer.

    Premier League Fantasy Football

I'm in... "Boogers Leg Breakers" this year, after "Paolo Futre's Journeymen" from last season. Going to be running out of semi-witty West Ham references after this season...

    Safeguarding

Completely agree...our course was 12 ref's, 3 Club Welfare Officers, 3 Coaches and it was definitely aimed more at the CWO's and Coaches... valuable and relevant but some were sat there thinking "how does this affect me?"

    Safeguarding

Having done mine on Friday, I can tell you now...it IS death-by-powerpoint. As Charlie Acton says, it's a lot about scenarios and other issues that may arise, with most of the outcome being "speak to the Club Welfare Officer" or "speak to the CFA Welfare Officer". Myself and another guy...

    Saturday 3pm...

Well...I went along last night to my local team's ends preseason friendly. Got chatting to the ref afterwards, got the inside info on some of the leagues I'm likely to be in the middle for. Great advice from a Level 5, including some info about progression in 12-18 months for running lines in...

    Saturday 3pm...

Thanks HullRef, that's good advice. I'll give them a ring this afternoon and see what I can drum up in the way of pre-season friendlies.

    BOOTS!

OK...so if we're on "predominantly black" does that mean I can pick up a spare pair of Nike's with the Orange swoosh (last seasons - hence reduced at many high street chains, including those owned by reclusive NUFC owners)? EDIT: Oops...just realised I resurrected a thread from the dead there!

    Saturday 3pm...

Well...for a variety of reasons I never got the chance to complete my course last year, so I'm booked on for the course starting in a few weeks time in Exeter. Fitness is sorted, time dedicated to this, and ready and raring to go! Unfortunately the course starts on the first weekend of most...
