Always keep your eye on the game

This is obviously more serious than most, but when a referee is assaulted I believe the police should get involved. Without criminal, external action, players will go on thinking it is acceptable as it is 'all part of the game'.

    Head injury....going off?

If you were to allow play to continue and something were to happen to him, think of the grief you'd get for allowing play to continue even though it's the manager's fault. I would strongly recommend a substitution, and if that does not happen I would abandon the match for a serious injury.

It's concerning to think that these are supposedly the best in the world.

    World Cup Final

I never thought I would say, think or write these words, but I hope Germany win and I'm glad they scored. Argentina have been so dirty - Germany deserve it. And of course the Falklands...

    World Cup Final

After not sending off Aguero, I think it's fair to say that this has not been a referees' World Cup

    World Cup Brazil vs. Netherlands

Having seen the side-on reply many times, he has a second grab (all part of the same foul) and I reckon that was on the line, so the penalty was probably correct, but red card for sure.

    World Cup Final

He (and his assistants) have had a great game up to Neur's collision. There is absolutely no way that Neur was fouled, and I think it should have been a penalty - if a player collides with somebody like that while making a header then it's a foul and a yellow or red card, so why should it be any...

World Cup Uruguay vs. Costa Rica

Great penalty decision - so glad to see he have that, sends out a good message for the rest of the tournament. Did anyone else notice that the referee didn't wait for the ARs to leave the pitch together - he just headed straight off which is bad form. Never thought I'd say this but I love...

    World Cup Brazil vs. Croatia

yes, I think in Europe the advice is to the contrary - on the front cover of the 2013-14 LOTG 2 ARs have furled flags!

    World Cup Brazil vs. Croatia

yes, I saw that, thought it was peculiar. It also annoys me that foreign officials go against what we're told to do in this country and have there flags rolled up when they come out!

    Thoughts?

It would affect your match control because all the players as well as the fans know that you have made a big mistake and consequently you will lose credibility

    Ref talking to the press

Although not a live interview, Clatts spoke to the Sky pitchside reporter at the Stoke vs. Man Utd game in the Capital One Cup semi-final during the interruption for hail to explain why they had come off.
