    After-Match Fight

this afternoon I was stood pitch side waiting for a game to finish before mine started. Once the ref blew full time all sorts of pushing and shoving and handbags started. I felt for the young lad as it was a good game and he looked a little lost in there. Once full time has been blown does...

    This morning

Thanks. That’s what I thought. I know the laws don’t mention it being deliberate but it does say about it being kicked to the keeper so I didn’t consider it a kick to the keeper: more a kick that went to her, if that makes sense lol. Only the manager called for it, no one else.

    This morning

I had one today which id like some clarity on please if poss. Ball played over the top, defender running back tries to control it but makes a hash of it and her goal keeper picks it up. I didn’t give the free kick.

    No assistants

I often ref without CARs. For me, I try keep as close to play as possible to see the touchlines and make credible decisions. I guess off sides take a hit; but I cover this with managers and captains before the match. I get wide for free kicks to ensure that if I do give an offside my...

I used paper only. Questions on a projector. Timed. Was fine. Got a few more wrong than I thought but passed comfortably.

It’s no where near as hard as that. Don’t worry. Just read the question carefully and all will be well.

    Unsporting from Drop Ball

I should add: when I do dropball I just ask if they’re contesting and get on with it. I try not to engage in conversation about it whatsoever.

    Unsporting from Drop Ball

On the contrary; I believe it’s one thing to deceive an opponent and another to deceive the referee

    Unsporting from Drop Ball

If they told you the were doing it and didn’t you could possibly think about deceiving the referee?

It’s disgusting behaviour. It crosses a line big time.

I personally don’t mind when I get paid. Sometimes it’s offered up before the match but most of the time it’s paid after. If a manager refused to pay I’d just say ok and leave. I’ll get my money anyway. It doesn’t need to be made into a big deal as clubs get fined etc if they don’t pay you...

    My first open age middle!

Enjoy yourself. It’s very different to youth. Lay down the law, be fair and firm and they’ll respect that. Start with the kit inspection. Have a joke with them etc. Kit inspection is usually your first chance to put some authority down on so use it well. Speak to them in a friendly but...

Don’t be influenced by their calls or their friendliness. Don’t be afraid of them. They try to intimidate refs a lot of the time; if you show you can’t be intimidated then they’ll calm (a little).

I know what you’re saying. I should have used the word deliberate. In my mind it’s similar to a deliberate act by a defender which resets offside. In a way.

A defensive free kick in the penalty area can be taken anywhere in the area though

Every handball is intentional. Has to be, or else it isn’t handball.
