Under Law 8 if the ball enters the goal without touching at least two players, players restarted with either a goal kick or a corner kick

    Man Utd v Chelsea

They would need to be 4m away. I think he could have a shot but would need to touch at least 2 players for goal to be counted. At what point can the opposition close down a dropped ball. When it leaves referee's hand, when it hits the ground or when the player touches it?

    Managing being mobbed by players

Genuine question - what would you do if you turned up for an U13 match and there were no corner flags? In the LOTG you need to have corner flags. And what if you speak to the coach about it and it turns out they cannot afford them (very common in youth football). What do you do then? As a...

Postponing a game due to the temperature

I am finding this Forum so frustrating. As a new referee there is some really great advice on here which I find invaluable. However, there is a horrible tone to some of these threads that has me considering leaving the forum. I appreciate that as a referee I will need to put up with a lot from...

Junior/Youth How much should I get paid for a U9 game?

I charge £15 per game, no expenses. In line with our leagues fee's

    U10s game yesterday

I am currently qualifying as a referee and I have also coached primary aged children for 4 seasons and will continue to do so. I agree that there are problem coaches and parents out there. There is a lack of respect towards the referee from some coaches and parents which I think is a very poor...

World Cup Should this be a penalty?

I think that is the issue - has the arm made her body unnaturally bigger? If you think yes, it should be a penalty. If you think no, it shouldn't be a penalty. And I think this is where there will be differing views.

    Safeguarding/DBS

I have just attended the London FA ref course and they sent a welcome email with the link and code you need. They then took ID off me on the course and was all completed in a couple of weeks. I would assume other FAs are the same but cannot say for sure. Good luck on your course, really...

    England v Scotland

Agree with you. I am not convinced this is a 'good' change to the Laws.

    England v Scotland

I don't believe that for this offence it matters now how close they are.

    England v Scotland VAR penalty

I agree. Felt the arm made their body unnaturally bigger and was correctly a penalty.

    IFAB app

Had the same issue, but found a solution. If you highlight some text in the laws, you should then have the option to either copy, highlight or make a note. If you make a note, then it should appear in My Notes.

    Can it get any worse?

I am really disappointed in some of the comments in this thread. Comments like 'nothing story,' 'bit dramatic' and 'is it that shocking?' I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion. My opinion is this is a shocking story, the behaviour is completely unacceptable whether it is in a...

Junior/Youth "Surely that's only a yellow at this level ref"

As a coach (not qualified as a ref yet) I would have completely supported your decision, which is absolutely the correct one. This says so much more about the coaches and is really disappointing.

    New Referee Advice

I will be attending referee's course this month. My question is 'what piece of advice would you give a new referee?'

    First Game

Is there any guidance as to when to call off a game due to weather, condition of the pitch and player safety?
