To be fair mate I was refereeing Ladies of similar age a few years ago. Walk on to the pitch to hear one player say to her captain 'You better have the chat-up lines the day' before she walked into the circle for the handshake. Both laughed. Bit of banter! Think she was more embarrassed than...
Up here in Scotland girls u12s always play the game the way you described above. Very easy to referee. They always listen to you and iv yet to see dissent when I was doing them. Some of the parents mind you act like its a champions league final. Hope all goes well!!!
Happens quite a lot. Or a high school. One in Edinburgh that is miles up a road just to get to. No sign of any janitor, football pitches, anyone. Quick call to the match sec was told it was away round the back of the school. Was tired before I even arrived ha.
Cheers for all the replies guys. Like i said it wasn't really bothering me was just wondering your thoughts. It wasn't till half time that I realised that I may have cautioned the wrong player but everyone accepted it and the card meant nothing come the end of the game(i.e second yellow). I...
Bit of an odd one but had a game last weekend and its been on my mind for a few days(not bothering me tho). A few minutes before half time Reds v Blues U17s Boys. The Reds get a throw. Now a player goes over picks up the ball from the Reds and is about to take it but then stops. He waits...
Iv yet to give a penalty where at least one player doesn't moan. The boy yesterday gave away 2 pens for his team and both times it was my fault not his pathetic attempts at trying to get the ball.
I gave 3 this afternoon at an u15s. All 3 were spot on and such stupid defending. Home team scored two to make it 4-2. Away team missed the last min one to end the game 4-3. Tough game.
Always think about the distance the player is from the ball. If he is right beside it can he do much about it. Also where is the players hands are they high in an unnatural position.
Very few competitions have it in there rules that you must not be paid till after the game at least up here in Scotland anyway. Most say 'The Referee can demand payment upfront for services or the game will not commence'. Iv never actually heard of a coach refuse to pay when asked at KO tho...
Put the reds in. Its not your call to change the cards. Stick with what you gave.....at the time you obviously thought it was bad enough to merit VC so stick with it. How quickly did you send them off when you seen them push each other??
I would defo mention it to the league. I always try and get the match fee before so I can make a swift exit. Evaluate his performance....what has that got to do with anything? I think your mate was quite right to demand it upfront or refuse to referee.
If they are club appointed linesmen you should not listen to them much at all, if they are clued up on offside get them to help you with that that not much else. They will call for everything otherwise.
Your quite right to award the goal when the injured player was down as you said there was...
I also would not let the abuse you described above get to you. This can happen from time to time and the more you referee you will notice which teams are more prone for it. You will have days where you leave feeling like crap and 'why am I doing this'. Done that many times before. But then...
Iv seen a few posts on here which state that Linesmen are provided by the club and get to call offside. I have never had this up here in Scotland. We normally call offside our self? Regarding the above I think common sense is the correct way to go. Be a very brave ref who gives a pen and a...
