Generally, I'd say give them a lot more responsibility. You know they are qualified (and obviously good enough to be there), and so it means you can leave a good section of the field to them. However, do just remember that you are in charge and that they are there to assist you, and not insist...

Jack, I can understand your point, but the 13 year olds leg isn't going to quickly worsen. Whereas, someone having a heart attack, or a stroke, would be time critical! I'm sure opayin meant by 'unimportant' that they are not as important as someone who is in limbo between life and death.
