    Mike Dean.....

Because I'm old I had to look up #justsayin' on Urban Dictionary. Apparently it's "used at the end of something insulting or offensive to take the heat off". Not sure what you typed was insulting or offensive, so all good there, but I'm only too happy to apologise. I'm sorry. I'm sorry that my...

    Mike Dean.....

Apologies. Forgot to put the sarcasm emoji at the end.

    What Constitutes A "Foul Throw?"

**sigh** Of course you have to judge it on what it looks like. How else would you judge it? On what it sounds like? On what it smells like? If the Laws of the Game don't seem clear maybe grab a dictionary and check out the words "head", "behind" and "over". That's what I did. Suddenly...

    Rapido Sending Off

Just realised the ref in this game has lined in the Premier League. Hope for every one of us! :-)

    Wristbands

Well I stand corrected. Didn't know they had metal on them. Shows how many festivals I've been to...

    What Constitutes A "Foul Throw?"

    How so? I disagree.

    First 5-4 assessment

I like it when people guess the mark. Will you have a go at this one please?

    First 5-4 Assessment

You had neutral assistants? What's the story? Did they do offsides for you?

    Line Assessment

Slovenly approach to the possessive apostrophe and hyphens. Wrong decision not to proofread. That's my take on it. ;-)

    What Constitutes A "Foul Throw?"

Right on. I'll rescind that on grounds of mistaken identity. Charlie Jones was yon culprit, not your good self.

    Wristbands

So, to get technical... But what does this mean? That you can't wear any jewellery? Or just jewellery that is dangerous? Also, what is jewellery? Not sure that definition would include rubber or paper wristbands. But the LOTG's does... So there you go. Rubber bands count as jewellery and...

    Must be a record?

Ditto. No worries, other Frank. Apparently I've been "the best ref we've had all season" in most of my games. So it all balances out. ;-)

    What Constitutes A "Foul Throw?"

Kind of comical, this thread. Is it really that complicated? I'd say, "you know it when you see it." Read the LOTG. Forget what players and coaches shout, and what you learned in primary school. And don't punish throws purely on the basis of how ugly or different or accidental, for that matter...

    Wristbands

By the LOTG, I believe you're right. Charity wristbands are easily removable, though - but haven't these gone out of fashion? A bigger issue is festival and nightclub wristbands, cos these are apparently cool, and therefore difficult to get people to relinquish. Personally, at pub level, they...

    Mike Dean.....

Is this an epidemic? Watching Salford vs Notts County last night the ref gives it the arms just before the second goal. Anyone see any possible foul or advantage??? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34753058

    Mark Clattenburg, Chelsea vs. Liverpool

Should be shouldn't it? But I bet there wasn't a soul in the ground thought that at the time. He gets his shot off. The foul doesn't interfere with that. They get on with it. One of those 'unwritten rules'. ;-)

    Mark Clattenburg, Chelsea vs. Liverpool

The one at about 4 minutes in the video here? I just watched a nice example of that sort of thing in the Class of '92 vs Salford City friendly. Have a look at 6.22.

    Rapido Sending Off

Not right impressed with the handball incident. Looks inside the box to me. Easy sell if you're not sure. Why make trouble for yourself? And, as pointed out, weak whistle, saunters over, probably a few too many smiles for a ref being crowded (nothing wrong with smiling at other times, of...

    Mike Dean.....

Think it's awesome that he shows a bit of passion and character - but gotta say I hate to see these refs on t'telly giving it the big advantage arms when there's clearly no need. Who's he telling to play on? Where's the foul he's supposedly seen? The one three seconds before he sticks his arms...
