Man City vs Norwich - encroachment

Looks offside to me. But that's okay. They probably won't change the decision now depending on what I think. ;)

    First 5-4 assessment

Thanks guys. So mark for this one was 74. 4's in Application in Law and Communication, 3.5's in everything else. I was happy enough with it at first - but that was when I thought each section was out of 4, later realising it was 5! ;) Certain things I find a little puzzling. Like the 3.5 in...

    They're back

Lovely to watch, wish all football was like that. Don't much care for watching games in general - find it a bit boring; more of a tennis fan myself - but that was class. Best match I've seen since that Soccer Aid game where Woody Harrelson scored the winning penalty. :-)

Guzan in Villa vs Man City

Absolutely. I've abandoned several games because players had incorrect sock tape. It's the Law!

    What Constitutes A "Foul Throw?"

You're so right: if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Why mess with perfection? We wouldn't want to risk disturbing the current harmonious climate.

Guzan in Villa vs Man City

Let's draft a letter to Premier League officials saying how they're letting us down. What would we mention? Brad Guzan's shirt. 15 seconds for goalie kicks. Not punishing dissent. Allowing crappy throws. Encroachment at penalties. What else?

    Stoke v Chelsea

No penalty for me. He jumped. Sorry, Loic, that's just the way it goes. Imagine how many fouls you would give if you blew for every single one where a player hurdles a challenge.

    What Constitutes A "Foul Throw?"

If someone "does it different from the correct procedure and you think it's fine" I think players have a right to be on your back.

    Wristbands

Reffed yesterday. Spotted a player wearing festival wristbands from this year. And whaddya know? Metal clasps, just as Brian remembers.

    What Constitutes A "Foul Throw?"

Well, knowing the LOTG might help. ;) Anyway, why not give it a try? To be honest, I can't say that's a problem I'm dealing with. Something you want to tell us? ;)

    I keep forgetting ...

Nice to know this happens to lots of us. Must be some short circuit takes place in the brain. I've had a couple of these - see the foul, tell myself which player I'm having - and then when all else has been dealt with, he's completely out of my mind. Feels like I've been bamboozled by Derren Brown.

Thanks for that. Anyone else before I reveal the mark?

    What Constitutes A "Foul Throw?"

Only if you infer it that way. But that's called 'putting words in someone's mouth'. Hopefully the above post sufficiently clarifies. I would hope that referees are getting this right - but then I know there are still referees out there blowing for every shout of "leave it!" so I'm not filled...

    What Constitutes A "Foul Throw?"

It's a good point, McTavish, and I do apologise for underestimating the educational value of this thread (as well as the tongue-in-cheek language, which I see hasn't come across so well). Maybe I can backtrack/change tack and start afresh? You're right that this simple phrase is deceptively...

    2 games, 22 goals...

One finished 8-6, the other 5-3 (three pens in that one). Muddy Sunday football; ya gotta love it. Anybody got that beat?
