Spurs v Newcastle - guess what?

That’s not clear and obvious? All I’m seeing is Lascelles clattering into Kane. Always a penalty. It at least warrants Dean getting a second look

    Jesus - VAR

Not sure I necessarily agree, all technology has its flaws - LBW decisions in cricket stick with the onfield umpire's decision if the projected ball path is within half a ball's space, essentially accepting that there's a margin of error in which it would be improper to overturn an original...

    Jesus - VAR

Won't make much difference if, like Neil Swarbrick's appearance today, they seem to distort the facts to fit their truth. Incapable of admitting when mistakes are made.

    Jesus - VAR

Neil Swarbrick (head of implementing VAR) on 5live this morning RE the Rodri incident: “Arm was around top of body yet Rodri fell forward not back as if he was pulled. Ref view was he felt contact, didn’t think he can he win header so went for pen. VAR looked at replays, what ref said was right...

A couple of things to watch out for ...

Only in my experience so far but I agree, certainly at grassroots. A lot more playing out of the back

    Jesus - VAR

Right I've had a think about this and I'm not sure the decision is supported in law. Take this clause from Law 12 which I believe is the one VAR will have use to chalk the goal off - it is an offence if: In this instance, Laporte categorically does not gain control or possession of the ball...

    Applying for multiple leagues

Yeah I would make sure you don’t tell different leagues you’re free on the same day or you run the risk of being double booked and then awkwardly having to tell one of them you’re not free despite having previously informed them you were. I normally stick to one Saturday league but I have a...

    Jesus - VAR

A bigger slap in the face that Llorente's last season was allowed despite VAR. Farcical

    Dropped Ball

Yes, under the new law, any dropped ball in the area would go to the defensive keeper.

    Dropped Ball

I would probably have waited a couple of seconds for the ball to go into the area (so the keeper can have the drop ball) or to go away from the edge of the area to a more neutral zone (so the drop ball is in a less promising position) which avoids any complaints when restarting.

A couple of things to watch out for ...

Yep, goal kick one is the most common one I've seen so far. Getting into position for the drop zone is a thing of the past. Much better to hang around the edge of the area tbh, never turn you back on the keeper. Agree with the ball still rolling, had that a lot of times when trying to catch the...

Super Trophy Istanbul between a red team and a blue team

I’m fine with no penalty, seems to hit his chest but if it hits an arm it’s the one tucked into his body. Even this year I think you can justify not giving it

    First adult line

Depends on the league but I'd imagine a similar standard. Might get a few comments about your age but keep up with play (they won't be used to it) and it'll shut them up. Same skills you've cultivated with U18, stay focused and you'll smash it. Good luck!

    Sin bins (again)

Correct. They're in the sin bin for 10 mins of played game time so would return after 15 mins of real world time as it were (15 mins off the pitch, but 5 of those the game wasn't playing)

    Sin bins (again)

Yes, we were told at training that because it technically isn't a dismissal (even though they can take no further part in the game), they can remain with their team at the sidelines.
