    Goal keepers and sin bins.

That surely has no basis in law? When you sin bin him, there already is a stoppage in play.

    Sheffield United vs Man City

I find watching LM’s positioning so interesting. He has such a unique style compared to almost all the other top flight refs, I don’t know where he gets it from. Impossible to explain but he always seems to be in an interesting place

    Goal keepers and sin bins.

Yeah, sin bin takes place at a stoppage in play. Play can’t resume until there’s a keeper

    U13 Abandonment

No, I would only include what you saw. They’ll get what the referee saw from his own report. Sorry you had to go through that mate. Seems like a comprehensive report and you worked well as a team to stay on top of it!

    Incorrect player names

I’d refrain from using that sort of language to any player, let alone a youth player... That aside, if I had an inkling something was up I’d ask them a second time, then just report the name you’re told is the advice I’ve been given.

Not sure what this ref was thinking...

Always surprises me as well how few refs are good at maths when it comes to the penalty area. Have seen many a free kick, say, on the D and ref sprays the wall a couple of yards in front of the penalty spot. Shocking

    Referee Explaining Decisions

Comes across great here because he's eloquent and is clearly good at explaining certain decisions in law in layman's terms, esp. with the handball. Problem comes if your referee sounds thick (like most of the BT/Sky pundits) or they're not that good at communicating the laws, as I suspect we'll...

    TH v Chelsea

I wonder if having VAR has affected positioning, hence referees not being in the right position to call fouls like these. For the penalty here, he doesn't seem to be sprinting like he normally would - same with the pen in the Manchester derby a couple of weeks ago. For the red card he's looking...

    Manc Derby

This is wrong IMO. He's not falling, falling implies an accidental act. Sliding is block a cross is not falling.

    Manc Derby

Doesn't the law change this year say that this is an offense? If it hits hands when sliding

    Cautions

Have never heard this before - how come?

    Cautions

Sounds like you were right there but people will deal things in their own way. Might be worth remembering not to get too drawn into giving lengthy explanations to players of what you've given - a quick 'both all over each other' and run off will do the job and avoid situations like this. Having...

Sin Bins - are you finding they help?

From my experience this season it seems to be working well - I'm finding captains are much more proactive during the stepped approach at warning team members if they step out of line

    Referees in the way

Yesterday's performance by Mason was one of the worst refereeing performances I've seen...basic mistakes you wouldn't want to make at Sunday league. How he's still a PL official is beyond me, quite frankly - does it every time I've seen him. There was an incident RE positioning at the Newcastle...

    Games disappearing from WGS

I've had it before sometimes, queried it to the RDO and he said it's just a glitch in the system sometimes, but if you've pressed submit, they'll see it

    Man City v Villa

    Exactly, so one is guessing.

    Man City v Villa

You're missing the point. Why hasn't VAR got access to the same feeds an independent panel does? If we're using it to make decisions, it should have access to every angle possible!
  18. A

    Man City v Villa

Agree but irrespective, if they’ve adjudicated that Silva touched the ball, they must have had a clear angle? So why hasn’t VAR had access to that? Or if they did, why weren’t they able to come to the same decision?

    Man City v Villa

How can the goal accreditation panel give it to Silva if VAR can’t find conclusive proof? What have the former seen that the latter haven’t?

Packing it in for a month

Yeah I go through phases - currently had a month or so off. I need time to recharge my batteries mentally and refind my love for refereeing. I think it’s perfectly normal
