My immediate thoughts on reading the BBC report was that something didn't add up, whilst a push on an official is an assault, there seems to much around it, surely something more happened?
Not even that, arriving an hour before the game provides more than enough time for a warm up and a pre-match.
Every supply league game and above in the country goes with both, the only time they don't do both is when none of the officials want to warm up.
Don't pay attention to things you can't control. All that matters is the match, if the parents disagree with you so what? Your knowledge of the laws will triumph probably all of their knowledge.
They shouldn't really provide an issue. There are only a few silly trick questions and the rest are pretty simply. There's enough very simply ones to get a pass. An AR may get involved in the placement on a wall, they aren't forced to or forced not to though.
I think you just had to wait for The Referee Forum to hit its demise as that was very popular when I joined it. There was also another one around when I first qualified (2012) but it isn't here anymore. Sheffield's Finest still posts on The Referee Forum but it seems to be just him there haha.
A West Riding Football League official was recently telling a group of West Riding officials about his encounter with Neil Warnock as the 4th official. Warnock begin to have a go at him over a decision to which the 4th official responded, "Yes Neil, I know, I'm stood right next to you I've got...
I do the same haha, listen to people moan that it doesn't work and then usually find the fixture myself and show them.
The creases in the system will soon iron out, the issue is there is a portion of referees who moan about it but don't report the issues, and therefore the issue is never fixed.
I think there's more than one RateTheRef, but the main one is majorly referees, and it does seem that those of the higher levels are on there. There's quite a few L2's and above on there.
I have used The Referee Forum. Back when I first registered for this forum TRF seemed to be more active...
If you're good enough, you're good enough. In my experience of working with Level 4's if they're not good enough they quickly get found out. You can get to Level 4 and be found out to not be good enough, but once at Level 4 it's pretty difficult to blag your way to Level 3.
These fixtures do go on, but when you register as a referee with your County FA you agree to not officiate unregistered matches. If anything goes wrong you could have a misconduct charge levied against you.
Do not ask anyone else to ensure it is sanctioned. Pick up the phone, ring CFA and give...
Some other referee related forums have become graveyards in the past 6 months. When I originally joined this forum wasn't anywhere near as active as it is now. Note my join date an the fact I've only become active on here within the last month.
RateTheRef is the only other major one but that...
All about knowing where to look on the internet ;)
5-4 letters will come out at the end of the week if they're on time. 4-3 letters came out yesterday. Not really fair to put the list out before the letters come out.
