Well that was fun and interesting.
I get to pitch and straight away the away coach says ref how old are you because no offence you don't look old enough to ref my lads?
Game was going great a few yellows here and there but nothing major we were in 91st minute 5 yellows had been handed out then...
Obviously if it was 2 games of different clubs I would allow for travelling time ie take a game at 10, 12 and 1 30 rather than straight after each other
Then the second game is delayed in its KO time the two games are always with the same club and so I let the managers know hey I have a game after yours and hey I've got a game right before yours so they don't mind waiting because at least they have a ref.
Basically spot on mate some times I finish one game and my next game which is usually on pitch next to one I've just been on the players are all lined up in formation so I'm literally blowing for FT in one game then 30 seconds later blowing to start another game haha
Yeah the handshake thing seems to differ from league to league In my local youth league we don't line up and shake hands usually the coaches are screaming at their players to shake at end of the game but some don't. I try to shake as many as possible but players and coaches just wanna get off...
Ok maybe I made that sound worse than it actually is thanks to people on advice based on what I said let me go through things in more detail and fyi this is purely in junior football.
Yes I get to pitch 10 mins before KO but that is a minimum the club I ref for don't open gates to field til 30...
I don't do a pitch inspection as the manager of the home team is expected to check everything before the ref gets there (league rules) then they tell me if anything is wrong then I will take a look and take action if required for example when I got there last week he told me that there was a...
Nah I don't want to bring unnecessary attention to myself all refs in my county (At junior games) get the money at then end I think I'll just stick to what everyone does.
Yeah when I first started I got there 20 mins and both coaches said to me that I was early and that KO was not for another 20 mins I asked well when do other refs turn up they said 10 mins before.
For junior football I get at pitch 10 mins before KO give both managers the lino flags tell linos what I expect then I wait in centre circle til both teams get in formation if one is ready and the other is taking the Mick ie it's 5 mins past original KO time then I will blow whistle but I like...
Yes a little outdated (I think) but it is brilliant for getting to know your Laws and majority of questions are correct.
The exam will be multiple choice with questions of varying degree of difficulty I believe you have to achieve 75% to pass (correct me if I'm wrong)
Just don't go in...
